After defeating the Innovades in 2312, Celestial Being functioned as a deterrent for the world, but its actions became more discrete. Celestial Being only appeared on the battlefield if it believed that the new Earth Sphere Federation government was incapable of handling the situation. The usage of the Gundams had taken on a greater significance than just combat, so Celestial Being actively turned to the use of other machines and only used the Gundams as a last resort. In addition, Celestial Being had difficulty accessing the orbital elevators, so it stationed mobile suits in different places on standby. The GN-001REIII Gundam Exia Repair III was the repaired and upgraded version of the GN-001REII and was stationed on Earth for Setsuna F. Seiei’s use.
The Repair III was now powered by a GN Condenser, and the GN verniers all over its body were upgraded to the latest version, which allowed the suit to maneuver effectively while keeping GN particle consumption low. Additional GN Condensers were installed in the enlarged shoulder and knee armor. The Repair III’s armaments now included a GN Long Rifle mounted on the left arm, which allowed for extreme range attacks that let the suit conceal itself. The rifle could be folded in half when not in use, which prevented the long barrel from being a hindrance during melee combat. The ideal melee combat option was to detach the rifle, but this action was not taken due to the rifle containing Celestial Being’s unique technology, which made it too valuable to be discarded. Following the ELS conflict of 2314, the Repair III was upgraded once more to the GN-001REIV Gundam Exia Repair IV for use by Graham Aker after he joined Celestial Being.
