The GN-009 Seraphim Gundam was a light mobile suit based on the GN-004 Gundam Nadleeh. Like its predecessor, the Seraphim Gundam was equipped with the Trial System, which allowed Gundam Meister Tieria Erde to control any mobile suit linked with the quantum computer Veda. While the Gundam Nadleeh was covered with armor to form the GN-005 Gundam Virtue, the Seraphim Gundam instead transformed into the backpack for the heavy GN-008 Seravee Gundam. The GN Drive was mounted on the Seraphim Gundam and powered the Seravee Gundam when docked. The two suits had individual cockpits, and when separating the pilot seat was transferred over from the Seravee Gundam. When separated, the Seravee Gundam acted as an unmanned attack unit.
The Seraphim Gundam’s arms housed a pair of GN Beam Sabers and could transform into GN Cannons. The Seraphim Gundam could also use the Seravee Gundam’s GN Bazooka II. However, because the Seraphim Gundam’s lightweight body lacked large GN Condensers, the power of the bazookas was reduced. During the final battle with the Innovators in 2312, Tieria reclaimed control of Veda (at the cost of his physical body) and remotely activated the Trial System to shut down enemy forces. However, the Seraphim Gundam was then destroyed by Ribbons Almark’s CB-0000G/C Reborns Gundam. After the conflict, Tieria remodeled the Seravee Gundam into the GN-008RE Seravee Gundam II and built the new CB-002 Raphael Gundam.
