The GNMS-XCVII Alvaaron was a mobile suit developed in secret by Alejandro Corner and based on data from the CB-001 1 Gundam. However, whereas the 1 Gundam was designed for versatility, the Alvaaron focused on firepower. The Alvaaron was designed to dock with its mobile armor support unit, the GNMA-XCVII Alvatore. The two units were covered in a gold coating that was designed to disperse enemy beam attacks, but the practical effect was limited. The Alvaaron was equipped with a combat support AI that handled long-range firing and other simple movements. The system also allowed for support from Veda and Alejandro’s assistant, Ribbons Almark.

The Alvaaron’s weapons included a pair of GN beam rifles and beam sabers, plus a particle beam cannon fired by the wings. Although Alejandro was a skilled Union mobile suit pilot, he did not qualify as a Gundam Meister. His long-range plan to seize control of Celestial Being came to fruition in 2308 when he killed Aeolia Schenberg, took over Veda and secretly handed over 30 GNX-603T GN-X units to the three global superpowers. Alejandro joined the UN in a devastating attack on Celestial Being that resulted in the destruction of the Ptolemaios and the deaths of several of its crew. However, Alejandro was in turn betrayed by Ribbons, an Innovade who had his own plans for Celestial Being. In the end, Alejandro was killed in battle against Setsuna F. Seiei’s GN-001 Gundam Exia.
