The GNY-001F2 Gundam Astraea Type F2 was an upgraded version of Fereshte’s GNY-001F Gundam Astraea Type F. It used spare parts from the GN-001 Gundam Exia recovered in 2308 from former Celestial Being bases before they were discovered by the UN. The suit’s performance was increased by replacing deteriorating 15-year-old parts. The Type F’s hardpoints on the forearms and legs were replaced by GN Condensers, and a new head antenna improved the suit’s GN particle control capability by at least 40 percent. This improvement eliminated the issue created when the clavicle antenna was removed to mount the GN Launcher, which had the effect of lowering particle control capability. Sherilyn incorporated a new system for use during Trans-Am called GN Reflection, which controlled the particles around the suits to bend enemy attacks. However, the amount of particles that could be controlled was limited, and the system required extremely precise timing. The Type F2’s base armaments were the same as the Type F. After pilot Fon Spaak abandoned the Type F2, Fereshte, which had rejoined Celestial Being, recovered the Type F2 and converted it to run on a GN Condenser/Particle Tank. The Type F2 was then assigned to Eco Calore and used to test the new GN Hammer.
