By In 2308, Celestial Being is defeated by a UN fleet using new GN-X mobile suits that have performance on par with the Gundams. As a result, several Gundams were lost and the Gundam Meisters scattered. Later, at Lagrange Point 3, Celestial Being slowly rebuilds its strength in a secret asteroid base. Ian briefs Tieria Erde on the Gundam Astraea II, a test unit for the Double Drive System. Ian wants Tieria to kill two birds with one stone: retrieve resources from the base in the B13 area and test out the Proto XN Unit. Tieria vows to carry out the mission, but Ian doesn’t expect that he’ll face combat. Ian and Tieria talk about how the Double Drive System is a test for a future Twin Drive System. However, due to the lack of available GN Drives, they have to use GN Condensers instead. Tieria launches in the Gundam Astraea II and flies at high speed through the asteroid field. He spots an enemy unit approaching the Celestial Being base, but then it’s joined by red duplicates of the Gundam Exia and Gundam Dynames. The three enemy units land on the base and Tieria realizes that they haven’t detected him yet. He then rushes in with weapons ready and is attacked by the red Gundam Exia, which he easily slices in half with his GND Buster Sword III. He then combines the swords into one larger sword and dodges shots from the red Gundam Dynames before slicing it in half. Tieria then ejects the Proto XN Unit and the sword due to the high GN particle consumption rate. The black enemy unit opens fire and speeds away, but Tieria gives chase. He fires several shots from his GND Beam Rifle and destroys the black suit. Tieria realizes that this battle will alert Veda to Celestial Being’s continued existence, but he thinks it’s fine since they’re in hiding.
This short focuses on Tieria and shows what he was up to during the four years between the two TV seasons. We know that Celestial Being built up its strength again in secret, and Tieria testing prototype suits is part of that. There’s not much of a story here – Tieria encounters another mysterious black mobile suit and red duplicates of the Gundam Exia and Gundam Dynames. Presumably, they’re duplicates created by Veda for data collection purposes, perhaps to aid in the design of the suits used by the Innovades in season two.
