As Ali escapes in his Core Fighter he wonders why he can hear singing. Setsuna asks himself why he stopped fighting. In space, Hiling tells Divine that she didn’t expect Bring to die and offers to comfort him. Revive flies away and can’t believe that an Innovator was defeated. Regene comments to Wang that Tieria seems to be opposing them, and he thinks that’s amazing. Setsuna lands the 00 Raiser inside the Katharon base, and Marina runs over to see him. Setsuna comes down to the cockpit and collapses in Marina’s arms. Elsewhere, the Ptolemaios 2 flies through a mountain range to rendezvous with Katharon. Mileina orders the Haros to fix whatever they can, and both Saji and Marie offer to help with repairs. Tieria tells Ian that he had to use the Seraphim Gundam or he would’ve been defeated. Sumeragi wonders if the Innovators noticed the suit’s special ability, but Tieria isn’t sure. Allelujah comments that they’d be pretty helpless if A-LAWS attacked them. Ian wishes that they had the 00 Raiser, and Tieria says he’s confident Setsuna will return. Sergei sits alone and recalls his conversation with Hercury. Hercury stated that the Federation parliament ignored public opinion and created A-LAWS, which has used orbital weapons. Sergei warned that A-LAWS shouldn’t be underestimated, and Hercury said there were some places even A-LAWS couldn’t touch, such as the orbital elevator. Sergei asked if Hercury wanted to join the coup, and Hercury said he knew Sergei wouldn’t disobey orders, given what happened with Holly. Hercury said he visited Sergei because he didn’t want him to get involved. As he left, Hercury said an army couldn’t function properly under a corrupt government. Elsewhere, Shirin and Klaus meet with a coup representative. He says he can’t tell them where and when the coup will occur for security reasons. Klaus agrees to contact the various Katharon cells and Celestial Being. On a Baikal, Andrei comments that they’re jumping into battle right after coming back to Earth, and Louise says that’s their job. He tells her to be more feminine, including for the man named Saji, but she tells him she’s abandoned her past and walks off. Patrick walks up and says romance should be left to him, and Sergei ignores him. Hiling comments to Divine that humans are inconvenient because they can’t synchronize their thoughts, and Revive tells them Regene won’t be coming along. Kati arrives on a shuttle and is greeted by Homer. She asks why a technical officer is out on the field, and he explains that he wants to personally witness the destruction of Celestial Being. Kati thinks to herself that she wants to settle things with Sumeragi. Riding on a linear train, Hercury decides to make use of the fact that A-LAWS is deploying most of its forces to destroy Celestial Being.
Setsuna has a dream where he finds himself back in Krugis. He witnesses his younger self run by with a gun to murder his parents and join Ali’s crusade. Setsuna runs into the house and grabs the gun from his younger self. The younger Soran protests that he’s protecting God’s doctrines, but Setsuna tells him there’s no God and what he’s doing is despicable. He tells his parents not to let his younger counterpart out of the house and runs away. He’s surprised to run into Neil, who tells him the only thing he can change about the past is how he feels about it in the present. He then hears two gunshots and sees that the gun he grabbed has vanished. As his younger counterpart walks by, Neil tells Setsuna to change in place of him. Setsuna then hears children singing and wakes up to find Marina next to him. He asks about the song, and she tells him that she put the children’s wishes into a song. He tells her that he heard the song during Trans-Am and tries to get up. She asks him to rest and mentions his letter from four years ago, where he mentioned that he wanted to find ways for people to understand each other. She tells him that understanding people begins with getting to know them. The children sneak off and speak with several Katharon members. Setsuna tells Marina about what he did in Krugis a decade earlier, and she tells him she grew up in a normal family. She wanted to pursue a career in music, but because of her lineage she ended up as the princess of Azadistan. Setsuna tells her that music suits her better than being a princess, and she wonders if she was forcing herself to do it. She also states that Setsuna is forcing himself to fight. Ikeda walks in and tells Setsuna that the Ptolemaios 2 was resupplied by Katharon in Europe. Ian continues to work on ship repairs because they can’t use their submarine mode. In the mobile suit hangar, Tieria brings blankets for sleeping Mileina and Saji. Feldt announces that 36 enemy mobile suits and a mobile armor are approaching. Sumeragi orders the Gundams to launch while the ship retreats. On a plane, Patrick complains to Kati about not being able to fight in a mobile suit. Kati gives orders for the Gadessa and Empruss to suppress the Gundams while the other units attack the ship. However, several GN-XIIIs and Aheads are destroyed by a surprise sniper attack from the Cherudim Gundam in Trans-Am mode. Lockon continues his attack, and Kati orders her units to spread out until Lockon’s Trans-Am runs out. When it does, Lockon falls back to recharge his GN particles. Tieria and Allelujah begin their attacks and come under fire from the Gadessas. Divine fires plasma leaders that hit both Gundams and electrocute Allelujah and Tieria. Lockon comes under attack while recharging particles, and more suits approach the Ptolemaios 2. Marie volunteers to launch in the GN Archer, and Saji spots the Ahead Smultron, which he knows is now Louise’s suit. At the Katharon base, Marina asks Setsuna if he’s ok to launch, but he says his comrades are waiting. He asks her to let the children sing for him the next time they meet. Still feeling pain from his injury, Setsuna injects himself and takes off in the 00 Raiser. The A-LAWS suits open fire on the Ptolemaios 2, and Kati gets an emergency message from headquarters. The A-LAWS mobile suits then cease fire and retreat. Kati reads the message, which states that certain soldiers have initiated a coup and seized the Africa Tower elevator. Setsuna gets information on the coup and decides to head for Africa because he expects the Ptolemaios 2 to be there. Setsuna arrives at the Africa Tower and immediately comes under attack from Graham’s Masurao. Setsuna says he doesn’t have time to deal with him, so Graham decides to get his attention. He then activates the Masurao’s Trans-Am and surprises Setsuna.
Setsuna’s certainly not in the best shape after being shot by Ali. In a strange and somewhat disturbing dream, he tries to stop his younger self from murdering his parents and fails. Hearing the Marina song during this is kind of creepy, as is Setsuna running into Neil yet again. Despite that, Neil does make a good point, and through that, Setsuna feels the desire to change. Meanwhile, A-LAWS launches a large scale attack to wipe out Celestial Being once and for all, and at first Kati’s plan is going perfectly. Lockon is out of action while he recharges GN particles, and both Tieria and Allelujah are occupied by the Innovators. Hercury uses the opportunity of A-LAWS being distracted to initiate his coup, and he successfully seizes the Africa Tower, which formerly belonged to the AEU and was the site of Setsuna’s first intervention. Because of the coup, A-LAWS is forced to call of its attack on Celestial Being, which certainly works out nicely for them. Despite his injury, Setsuna jumps back into the action and has a surprise run in with Graham. When Graham unveils the Masurao’s Trans-Am, it’s clear this is the trick he was referring to. It’ll be interesting to see a battle between two suits that can use Trans-Am.
