Fumina looks for Sekai and sees him talking to Shia. Sekai asks her why she helped him fix his Gunpla, and she answers that it was beautiful and she wanted to fix it. He then points out that they could be fighting in the tournament, and she explains that she wants him to be stronger because she likes strong people, which Fumina interprets as a confession. Shia asks Sekai if he wants to be stronger and offers to build him something beautiful, but he notes that he already has the Try Burning. Shia thinks he could become more powerful with her Gunpla, even rising to the level of world champion. Before Fumina can act, Kaoruko steps in and feels threatened by Shia’s presence. Shia thinks her Gyanko nickname is amusing, and Kaoruko asks if she’s making fun of the Gyan. The argument is interrupted by the Shiki triplets, who comment that Sekai must be feeling pretty relaxed if he’s got time to flirt with girls before their match. Toshiya Shiki tells Sekai to start packing his bags, but Kaoruko and Shia get angry and stand up for him. Later, Sekai tells Fumina and Yuuma about what happened, and he has no idea what Shia is doing. He asks Fumina if she knows what Shia feels, but Fumina refuses to tell him. Ral arrives and tells the team that they’re fighting Toritsu Academy in the next round. They watch a video of the team’s previous battle, which showcased their ability to set traps. Fumina is reminded of the teamwork from SRSC, and Yuuma assumes that their SD units must have some hidden trick. Ral cautions the team that they’ll have to overcome Toritsu’s tactics to win. Toshiya and his brothers watch a video of the Try Fighters’ first round battle and examine the strength level of their improved Gunpla. Toshiya pulls up a video of Sekai’s battle with Wilfrid and explains assimilation, in which the placebo effect increases performance three times, akin to Trans-Am. However, the downside is that the nocebo effect causes the fighter to feel physical damage based on the damage to the Gunpla. Toshiya surprises his brothers by saying they should take advantage of this to ensure they win. The next day, Lady asks the Meijin who he thinks will win, and he answers that it could depend on the battlefield. SD-R and the Try Fighters begin their match in a foggy forest level with a large castle.
The Try Burning, Star Winning and Lightning Gundam Fb arrive outside the castle, and Fumina thinks they should hurry inside before the enemy has time to set traps. Sekai comments on the spooky atmosphere, and Yuuma admits to Fumina that he’s scared of ghosts. Inside the castle, a crumbling wall freaks Yuuma out and causes him to jump on Sekai. A missile is fired at a bomb near them, causing Sekai and Yuuma to fall into a pit. Fumina comes under fire and is forced to escape. More bombs explode behind her, and she finds a dead end with another bomb waiting. Yuuma scans the cave and finds that there’s no exit. Sekai discovers a hole that’s too small for them, and their communication with Fumina is blocked. The Giracanon Gundam and Dragonagel Gundam attack them with Sei’s Absorb system, which saps away their Plavsky particles. Yuuma tries to break free and is shot at by Toshiya’s Snibal Gundam. Sekai then tries to break free and is brought down by the power absorption. Yuuma shields Sekai from Toshiya’s fire, and Fumina uses her gun bits to blast a wall just as the bomb explodes. The Lightning Gundam falls to the ground, and Fumina fires a hyper beam cannon before flying through the small hole into the cave. She then uses her star funnels against Nobuya and Kazuya, allowing Sekai and Yuuma to break free. Sekai powers up and prepares to attack, but he stops when the Shikis activate a bright light and start charging particles. The three Gundams combine and form the dragon-like Snibal-Drago-Gira. The Shikis declare that they’ve developed this ultimate weapon to fight the Gunpla Academy. Wilfrid sees that SD-R created this weapon for revenge, but Shia doesn’t understand. Allan explains that Toshiya was rejected by the Gunpla Academy and has held a grudge since then.
Jealousy abounds and a new battle begins (but doesn’t end) in this episode. Sekai’s clueless harem has grown again with the inclusion of Shia, but he’s as dense as ever about it and has no idea what’s going on. The team has their second major fight of the national tournament and performs pretty terribly. They watched a video of SD-R’s last battle and saw that they use the terrain to their advantage to lay traps. So what do they do in this fight? Blindly walk right into a castle. They literally know they’re walking into a trap and still fall for it, when a better course would’ve been to just destroy the castle from the outside and flush out their opponents. Nobody really does anything in this battle, but I do have to give credit to the Shikis for using Sei’s Absorb system in a new way. Toshiya holds a grudge against the Gunpla Academy, but it’s pretty twisted to be so consumed by revenge that he’d be willing to use the nocebo effect to inflict real pain on Sekai. Obviously, Gunpla Battle is serious business. The episode ends after showing off the combined Snibal-Drago-Gira, but given how boring everything was before this, it’s not a particularly exciting cliffhanger.
