Fumina knocks on Yuuma’s door and gets no answer. She looks out a window in the hallway and sees him surrounded by punks. One of the punks pushes Yuuma and causes the briefcase to hit the ground and spill parts out. Yuuma states that the weaker version of him would’ve given in, but he can’t hand over these parts. The punks are interrupted when Fumina and Sekai arrive, and Junya looks at Sekai with anger. Fumina sees the briefcase and its spare parts for the Build Burning. Sekai prepares to fight, but Mirai and Ral arrive to stop him, explaining that he’s being goaded into brawling to get ejected from the tournament. The Meijin and Lady then arrive as witnesses and demand that the ringleader show himself, so Junya steps out of the shadows. Sekai and Mirai are both shocked to see Junya there. Later, Ral speaks with Fumina and Yuuma, while Mirai explains to Sekai that she saw Junya’s name on the list of competitors. Sekai recalls Junya playing dumb and commenting that it wouldn’t be bad if Sekai was thrown out of the tournament. Sekai wanted a fair fight and asked Junya if he forgot their master’s teachings, and Junya answered that he did because he didn’t need naive philosophy. Junya then boasted that Sekai’s strength was limited because his power only came from Jigen Haoh. Sekai doesn’t understand what happened since Junya used to be nice and taught him so much about Jigen Haoh techniques and philosophy. Junya had once told Sekai that strength had no limits, so fighters would spend their entire lives seeking new heights of strength. Mirai recalls the master telling them after Junya’s departure that their divided paths might cross again some day. Junya stands by the waterfront and recalls pleading with the master to learn the ultimate technique of Jigen Haoh. Junya then got into Gunpla Battle to find the strength he couldn’t in physical combat. Akira walks up to Junya and comments on how the two pupils will finally fight. Akira says that while Sekai is an amateur and doesn’t know anything about Gundam, he’s special and has retained something that Junya lost. Junya wonders again if the master taught the ultimate technique to Sekai and vows to take it from him. Sekai thanks Yuuma for protecting the parts, and Yuuma explains that they came from Sei. Yuuma then addresses Sekai and asks him to live up to spirit of the builder, Sei. The three then get to work on repairing the Try Burning.
The next day, Sakai’s Gundam Tryon 3 destroys a Psycho Gundam Mk-II to win his team’s battle. Shia’s G-Portent and and Wilfrid’s Transient Gundam destroy a Doven Wolf, while Saga’s Gundam The End destroys a Justice Gundam to win their match. Ral tells the team that they’ll enter the Best 4 if they win this next match. Nearby, the Tenzan Academy coach tells Junya that he’d better deliver results since he’s such a troublemaker. The computer loads up Guiana as the battlefield, which is the same area that Sekai and Junya trained in. The Try Fighters launch the Star Winning, Lightning Gundam Fb and Try Burning while team Titan deploys the Gundam Abulhool Plus, Gundash Blastor and Junya’s Denial Gundam. Junya immediately abandons his teammates and tells them to lose on their own because he can win by himself. While Fumina and Yuuma fight the others, Sekai faces off against Junya alone. Junya dismisses Sekai as an amateur using a Gunpla that someone else built. Sekai attacks with Seiken-Zuki, but Junya counters with the same move. They then attack each other with Shippu-Zuki and Senpu Tatsumaki-Geri, all with no result. Junya then kicks Sekai away, and Fumina deploys her bits against the Gundash Blastor. She half transforms into real mode and uses her leg cannons to destroy the opponent. Yuuma dogfights with the Abulhool Plus, which pulls behind him in midair, but Yuuma accelerates to full speed and ejects his Back Weapon System to escape. He gets above the enemy and fires his rifle for the winning shot. Sekai gets tossed around by Junya and attacks with Ryusei Rasen-Ken, which Junya easily blocks with aikido. He then attacks Sekai with techniques from boxing and Chinese martial arts. Mirai wonders if learning every martial art is the strength that Junya has been seeking. The Try Burning glows and projects a field that blocks Junya’s attack. The Try Burning starts emitting fire, but Junya doesn’t think that’s special because the Denial Gundam starts glowing purple. Long beam hair emerges from the back of its head, and Junya dares Sekai to come for him.
This is the moment that we’ve been waiting for almost half the series: Sekai fighting against Junya, a former disciple of the Jigen Haoh school. Junya falls within the scope of the classic martial arts rival, a character blinded by greed who can’t grasp the power his fellow pupil has attained. Junya tries dirty tricks like getting Sekai to fight in violation of tournament rules, but luckily it doesn’t work. The references to G Gundam get even stronger here, with another glimpse of the master who resembles Domon, plus Guiana being a training site. Fans of that series will recall that Guiana is where Domon spent years training with Master Asia. Junya is probably the biggest jerk in this series and immediately abandons his teammates so that he can fight Sekai. It’s good to see Sekai have another physical fight like when he battled Shimon the boxer. The difference this time is that Junya knows all the same techniques but has also taken on other styles of fighting in his quest for strength. I was annoyed that this battle also ended in the middle with a cliffhanger, but at least it was a more substantive fight than the one against the Shikis. The obvious resolution to this cliffhanger would be Sekai defeating Junya and showing him that his greed for more power is what blinded him to achieving the ultimate strength of Jigen Haoh.
