Iron-Blooded Orphans Ep. 42: Settlement

Merribit tells Kudelia that Tekkadan is dissolving all business connections to the Admoss Company, and Kudelia mentions that she can’t get any answers from Teiwaz. Merribit asks her to watch the broadcast from Gjallarhorn on Earth. In space, Jasley’s mobile suits come under fire from Tekkadan. The Gundam FlaurosGusion RebakeShiden CustomLandman RodiHekija and Shidens destroy multiple Hugos. The Lupus Rex smashes a Hugo into an asteroid and destroys it. On the flagship Golden Jasley, reports come in of more mobile suit losses. Jasley asks where Iok is and is told they haven’t heard from him. He previously set it up so that Iok would mop up Tekkadan from behind and then arrest McMurdo on Saisei. Jasley orders his men to hold out until Iok’s reinforcements arrive. Mikazuki destroys more Hugos, as well as in incoming Hyakuri. Isurugi reports to McGillis that the battle between JPT Trust and Tekkadan has started, and McGillis believes that Jasley will lose because he leads a group of ragtag mercenaries. Mikazuki uses the tail blade salvaged from the Hashmal to engage enemies, and Hush uses the Hekija against the enemy Hyakurens. Dante tells Hush that he’d better not do anything lame with the Hekija since it’s a keepsake from the Turbines. Jasley demands another status update on Iok and is told they can’t contact him, so he realizes he’s been abandoned. Jasley orders all the human debris to launch, and Hush comes under fire from human debris using Man Rodis. Hush and Shino return to their ships for quick resupply, and Atra gives Hush some food. Zack asks Dante and Chad if they’re OK with fighting human debris, and Chad answers that it doesn’t matter because everyone with a weapon is equal. Akihiro fights a Man Rodi and recalls what Galan told him on Earth. Ride has trouble against a Man Rodi, so Akihiro crushes it with his scissors.

Yamazin finds Julieta sulking next to the damaged Reginlaze Julia and wondering why she couldn’t beat Amida. Yamazin points out that Julieta came back alive and her enemy didn’t, but Julia counters that she was no match in a one-on-one fight. Yamazin notes that human body parts are a weakness, but Julieta thinks such thoughts are taboo. Jasley is informed that they have lost 50 percent of their mobile suits, but he refuses to surrender to Tekkadan. He instead calls McMurdo in a panic and tells him to stop Tekkadan’s attack. McMurdo interrupts and says he knows everything about Jasley’s plan to betray him and seize control of Teiwaz. McMurdo tells him that Iok won’t be coming due to a deal he struck with Rustal to overlook the attack on the Turbines. Iok begs him to stop Tekkadan, but McMurdo tells him that they’re not part of Teiwaz anymore and hangs up. McMurdo holds the shards of Orga’s broken Sakazuki cup and comments that Tekkadan is useless as an organization, but admirable for avenging their big brother. A furious Jasley curses everyone around him, including Tekkadan. Shino lands on an asteroid and fires directly on the Golden Jasley, so Jasley relents and calls Orga. He asks Orga to stop the attack and offers money, but Orga cuts him off and says he just wants to see Jasley beg for his life. Mikazuki lands in front of the bridge and asks for orders, and Orga tells him to crush them. Mikazuki swings his ultra-large mace and smashes the bridge as Jasley begs for his life. On Earth, McGillis calls a meeting of the Seven Stars heads, even though Rustal and Iok aren’t there. Orga thanks everyone for their performance in battle to avenge the Turbines. He notes that since they’re not part of Teiwaz they have no back up. A broadcast comes in from Earth where Liza declares that Gjallarhorn has become a corrupt front for the Seven Stars. He notes that the war between Arbrau and the SAU was engineered by Rustal’s man Galan, and that Iok framed the Turbines for transporting illegal weapons. Liza urges the soldiers of Gjallarhorn to rise up in revolution to reform the organization. Kudelia asks Merribit what she’s going to do, and she answers that she resigned from Teiwaz and will stay with Tekkadan. Kudelia tells Cucubita that she thought she was part of Tekkadan’s family too. Eugene asks if McGillis is aiming for the same thing as them, and Orga vows that they’ll survive and become the King of Mars. Later, Orga asks Mikazuki how the Lupus Rex performed, and Mikazuki tells him it was so good that he couldn’t believe he didn’t have a tail before. Orga doesn’t care about the name King of Mars, but he wants to get to the same place with everyone. The Isaribi continues on course for Earth.

This episode features some long-deserved comeuppance as Jasley finally gets what he deserves for all his vile actions, but it’s not the happiest of occasions. To be able to fight JPT Trust, Orga had to withdraw from Teiwaz and all the benefits that come with being part of that organization. Now, all they have left is to put all their hopes on McGillis’ revolution, which finally gets underway in earnest. The soldiers of Tekkadan have always met impossible odds head on with brute force, and that doesn’t change here. The Lupus Rex seems to be ideally matched to Mikazuki’s fight style, and incorporating the Hashmal’s tail blade is a nasty surprise for any enemy who dares to get close. The players are all in place for this final stage of the story, so now it’s time to see how everything goes from here.
