By The Megafauna‘s mobile suits spread meteor balloons to help deflect debris from Cyrano-5 following an accident. Raraiya is upset because the accident was caused by improper maintenance to the southern ring. Kerbes deflects some debris that was coming close to Raraiya, which makes Ringo jealous. Bellri is woken up by noise and asks Miraji what’s going on. Miraji explains that a wall broke off from the agricultural block and is leaking soil into space. Bellri asks about the large fruit crate with them, and Flaminia answers that the accident was an excuse for the ship to be able to leave port. Noredo looks over the maintenance of a Neodu, which Miraji explains has been used in colony construction for ages. Bellri asks about the suit, and Noredo tells him that it’s for Raraiya to use. Luin asks Cumpa about the large Towasangan suit Bifron that was loaned to them, so Cumpa tells him that it was given to them to help capture the G-Self. He asks Barara if she can pilot it, and she thinks she shouldn’t have any problems if she can test it for 20-30 minutes. Luin knows that the Dorette Fleet is looking for any advantage they can get, but Cumpa thinks they could turn things around and seize control of Towasanga. Manny reports to Barara that maintenance is done on the Bifron. Cumpa meets with Dorette Fleet officials while Barara takes off for her test flight. The captain of the Salamandra tells Mashner that their suits are impressive, and Rockpie is annoyed that an Earthnoid is being allowed to pilot one of their suits. Luin and Stephan take off in Mack Knife suits, and Manny notes how unemotional he’s become. Rockpie complains to Mashner about the Bifron, and Klim asks her to rescind the order about helping to clear debris. A complaint comes in from the Kashiba Mikoshi, and Rockpie argues with Mick that her Hecate was built by Towasangan engineers. The Salamandra’s captain tells Klim to prevent the Capital Army from getting to the Megafauna or the G-Self. After Klim and Mick leave, Mashner asks Rockpie to help with debris cleanup for the sake of making the Hermes Foundation look good. Aida and the others are surprised to see the Kashiba Mikoshi, the transport ship that delivers photon batteries from Sankt Porto and is an object of worship in SU-Cordism. Lorucca and Miraji report news about Cumpa arriving and their suspicion that he’s someone else. Bellri thinks they should help with the debris cleanup as a cover for finding a way to escape both the Towasangans and the Capital Army.
Raraiya gets into the Neodu and grabs a beater for deflecting debris. The Neodu launches and goes out of control, crashing into a meteor balloon and the Bifron. Ringo launches after her in the Moran and Luin interprets Raraiya’s actions as hostile. Barara uses an illusory attack with the Bifron’s four arms, but Raraiya deflects with her beater. Klim’s Space Jahannam opens fire and is attacked by Stephan. Mick shoots at Ringo, unaware that he’s an ally now. Aida launches in the G-Arcane while Raraiya uses her shield to deflect Barara’s attacks. She returns fire with her power welder and hits the Bifron’s head to take out its main camera. Bellri stops Raraiya from going too far, but at the same time Rockpie’s forces arrive and spread nets to stop the fighting. He addresses everyone and tells them that angering the Hermes Foundation will stop photon battery shipments, so he demands that they help with debris cleanup. Bellri leads the other mobile suits in spreading nets near Cyrano-5. Aida berates herself for being a useless princess while Bellri instinctively took action to help. Cumpa watches the debris cleanup from a Launch and secretly docks at one of the Megafauna‘s hatches. Lorucca spots Cumpa and asks him why he’s violating the taboo. Cumpa insists that he went down to Earth to stamp out the seeds of conflict, but Lorucca notes how UC technology has reappeared in the last 15 years and that Earthnoids couldn’t have built spaceships without the help of someone like Cumpa. Aida asks Flaminia if someone entered the ship through an emergency hatch. Cumpa tells Lorucca that he had no idea where the children were until the G-Self’s appearance and that what Lorucca is doing is a greater violation of the taboo. Aida spots Cumpa as he floats away and is called Piani Kaluta by Lorucca. Cumpa’s Launch breaks away from the ship while Aida confronts Lorucca about Cumpa. She states that if the conflict between the Dorettes and Rayhuntons also started with the Hermes Foundation, she wants to see its location as well, which is Venus Globe. She asks about the Crescent Ship which travels back and forth between Sankt Porto and Venus Globe, as well as the spare G-Self packs that Miraji has.
This episode marks a turn for the series, but it’s not a positive development. At some point there was an off screen accident last episode that led to a bunch of soil being ejected into space. Much of this episode focuses on this one event and feels like filler. What really should be focused on is instead pushed to the back burner. Yes, it’s common in Tomino shows for antagonists to try and outmaneuver each other with convoluted alliances, but it’s starting to go too far here with everyone trying to betray each other. We then learn that Cumpa is actually Piani Kaluta and was the one responsible for sending Bellri and Aida down to Earth. He claims he’s trying to stop conflict, but I think he still has his own agenda. Extra convolution is added when Aida talks about wanting to learn more about the Hermes Foundation at Venus Globe. I could understand her trip to Towasanga because it made sense to learn more about the mysterious threat from space. But we haven’t even learned all about Towasanga’s political situation and now it’s off to Venus Globe. Also, the Megafauna apparently has no security systems if a shuttle can just dock at any hatch. On the plus side, Bellri seems to be back to normal after his irrational behavior last episode. However, overall it’s a pretty weak episode that distracts from what should be the main focus.
