The Haunzen was a luxury civilian transport shuttle that ferried passengers between the Moon and Earth. Access to the Haunzen was limited to passengers with special privileges, such as ministers of the Earth Federation government. In April UC 0105, terrorists impersonating the anti-Federation group Mafty hijacked the shuttle, which was transporting many high-ranking government officials to a conference in Adelaide, Australia. The terrorists’ intention was to ransom hostages for money, and although there were several civilian fatalities, the attack was thwarted by passengers Hathaway Noa and Kenneth Sleg. The hijacking resulted in the flight being diverted to an Earth Federation Forces base at Davao in the Philippines.
