The Solo Ship travels through Null Space. Deck complains to Lotta about being excluded from a conference with other members of the Solo Ship crew. Meanwhile aboard the Dorowa Zan a recovered Damido reports to Harulu. Harulu tells Damido he’s the only one she can depend on right now with the recent deaths of two of her underlings and the absence of Gije. Damido announces to soldiers on the deck that hooks have been installed onto the Zlow Jicks. Some of the soldiers are worried about this being a suicidal attack. Crew members install Glen Cannons aboard the Solo Ship. At their conference in the forest dome, Sheryl reports the results of her analysis of Cosmo and Kasha’s brainwaves to Bes. She says when they feel danger, the power of the Ide raises. Kasha and Cosmo complain as Deck wanders in. Sheryl wants to return to Earth, Kasha says she needs to learn all about the Ide first. Cosmo and Kasha argue with the adults. Bes tells Cosmo to follow his orders in the future. The Dorowa Zan launches its Zigg Macks and Zlow Jicks. While Cosmo works on the Ideon, Deck shows him a drawing of the cockpits. Deck says he’s done his own research on the Ideon and wants to join them in battle. Cosmo decides to let him on. The two of them go to pick out a space suit for Deck to wear during battle. Lotta is worried about Deck’s safety. The Buff Clan forces quickly approach the Solo Ship. Lotta tells Bes about Deck wanting to pilot the Ideon. Sheryl says it will be alright with him aboard and that she wants a test to use with the Gloria computer on Earth. Hatari tells Bes that the Buff Clan is approaching. Damido tells his troops to focus on the Giant God once it comes out. Cosmo, Deck and everyone else head to the Ideon. Kasha wants them to win in order to show Bes that they should be the ones making the decisions in battle. The Ideon gauge lights up as soon as Cosmo and Deck get aboard. The Ideon stands up and starts taking hits from the Buff Clan. Cosmo tells Deck that the barrier will protect them. The Ideon departs the ship. Damido tells the Zlow Jicks to cover him and attack with hooks. The pilots are worried about dying.
The Zlow Jicks approach the Ideon from all sides. The Ideon launches missiles, which succeeds in destroying some of them. The Dorowa Zan approaches the Solo Ship and starts firing at it. Bes tells Cosmo to bring the Ideon back and protect the Solo Ship. Cosmo and Kasha are mad at Bes trying to give them orders and decide not to head back. The Zigg Macks attack the Ideon. Cosmo wonders who is leading the Buff Clan troops. The Solo Ship continues to get barraged by Buff Clan attacks. Bes wants to escape using the DS Drive Brake. Damido tells his troops to use the hook attack on the Ideon. The Zlow Jicks launch their hooks on the Ideon and start electrocuting it. Damido presses the Zigg Macks forward while the Ideon is stunned. Many of the Zlow Jicks around the Ideon are quickly destroyed however. Bes again orders the Ideon to come back. Damido continues to attack the Ideon. Cosmo is worried about the Solo Ship DS braking and abandoning them. The pilots are worried that this time they’ll be killed. Damido grabs the Ideon’s face, but the Ideon easily knocks the Zigg Mack back. The Ideon flees from the Buff Clan troops, trying to head back to the Solo Ship. Harulu has the Dorowa Zan cease its attacks as Damido’s troops near the Solo Ship. Damido attacks the Ideon but is easily knocked away. One of the Zigg Macks grabs onto the Ideon, holding it still while Damido fires at it using his Zigg Mack. The Ideon manages to fling away the Zigg Mack and throw them into each other, resulting in both blowing up. Deck tells Cosmo that fighting is scary. Cosmo tells him being separated from the Solo Ship was what was the scariest of all. The Ideon lands on the Solo Ship, which departs from Null Space. The Solo Ship appears on a planet populated by creatures similar to prehistoric man. In the forest dome Cosmo tells Bes that they thought the Solo Ship had enough strength to protect itself, which is why they didn’t come back. Bes tells Cosmo that he’s not going to let them pilot the Ideon anymore. Sheryl wants a more harsh punishment for them and says they should be locked up. Bes agrees to put them in solitary confinement for ten days. Karala is released from her cell and Cosmo and Kasha are put in.
This episode’s somewhat of a disappointment after the last three episodes which were quite good, although it does have the plot going somewhere so its not too bad. Damido makes his return after being injured for the last few episodes and becomes the third Buff Clan officer to die in the last four episodes. His role and death would eventually be completely changed in the compilation movie. The conflict between Cosmo, Kasha and the adults is also coming to a head as they disobey orders in battle. Now that Cosmo and Kasha are forbidden from piloting the Ideon, who will? The Solo Ship may find itself in big trouble in the next battle.
