Repairs are made to the Ideon‘s leg aboard the deck of the Solo Ship as it heads through space. The ship is suddenly attacked by a squad of Buff Clan ships, the Gondo Baus. The three Ideon units head out to fight but have trouble with the enemy. Aboard the Buff Clan ship Sades Zan, Gamms, an officer under Harulu’s command watches the data on the three Ideon units. During the battle the Solo Ship is struck and Fard injures his head. Cosmo succeeds in taking down multiple enemies however, showing the Giant God’s true strength. Hearing that Harulu is approaching on the Dorowa Zan, Gamms pulls back his forces. The Sades Zan rendezvous with the Dorowa Zan. Gamms goes to see Harulu. Harulu tells Gamms that she’s cast Gije aside. Gamms volunteers to replace him. The injured Fard is laid to rest in bed. Lin asks Cosmo why they don’t just give the Ideon to the Buff Clan in order to stop the fighting. The Solo Ship crew reviews footage of the new Buff Clan forces from the battle. Bes decides to land the Solo Ship on the planet Flag Star so they can make repairs. Cosmo asks why they don’t just surrender. Karala says they can’t surrender and allow Emperor Zou of the Buff Clan to control the universe. Cosmo is concerned about the safety of the children aboard the ship. Deck and Ashura watch in amazement as the Solo Ship descends onto the water filled planet. Once they land Deck jumps into the water, forgetting that he can’t swim. Luckily with the salt water he floats to the surface. Repairs are done on the Ideon aboard the Solo Ship deck. Bes ponders what Cosmo was talking about earlier. Karala tells him and Hatari of Gamms and says that she wants to negotiate. Gamms ejects part of the Sades Zan and heads down to Flag Star.
Harulu watches as Rogg Macks depart the Sades Zan and head down to Flag Star. The Sades Zan soon follows. Karala heads out on a small plane with Joliver to meet up with Gamms. The three Ideon units follow behind them. Karala and Joliver land aboard the Sades Zan. Karala wants to exchange the Solo Ship and Ideon for a Gataman Zan class Buff Clan ship, but the power hungry Gamms refuses to negotiate. Karala and Joliver depart and a large squadron of Gondo Baus is soon sent out after them. The three Ideon units join in on the battle and Joliver and Karala make their way onto the Ideo-Delta. After suffering losses the Gondo Baus want to retreat, but Gamms refuses. Using an anchor attack similar to the Gil Bau’s hooks, the Buff Clan ships electrocute the Ideo-Nova. The Sades Zan launches its Rogg Mack Heavily Mobile Mechas, which take the appearance of large spheres with legs. Cosmo works on freeing the Ideo-Nova by attacking the enemy. The three Ideon units dock into the Ideon’s humanoid version. During the battle the Solo Ship’s engine room is flooded. The Solo Ship is still able to ascend however, shocking Gamms. The Ideon heads towards the Sades Zan and is attacked by three Rogg Macks at once. The Ideon has difficulty because the Ideon gauge won’t show up properly. The three Rogg Macks force their way into the Ideon, electrocuting it. Cosmo tries to use the Mini Black Hole Cannon but it doesn’t work. The Ideon manages to punch one of the Rogg Macks, revealing its true humanoid form, but then crashes towards the ocean. By firing all its missiles at once, the Ideon is able to destroy the Rogg Mack. Cosmo realizes that they only won because the enemy wasn’t completely prepared for the battle. Gamms retreats, and says he’ll use the Buff brother and sister to attack in the next battle. A passed out Karala is brought aboard the Solo Ship. Cosmo says she is truly a member of their crew now. Cosmo wonders if the Ide has abandoned them. He wonders how a civilization that created the Ide like the Sixth civilization could have been wiped out.
This episode is somewhat of a disappointment after the really good episode last time. The few redeeming qualities of the episode are the addition of new mecha (the Sades Zan, Rogg Mack and Gondo Bau) as well as the new character, Gamms. Considering the recent history of Harulu’s underlings, don’t expect him to last long. The new scenery also helps. That said, the battles in this episode are quite dull, and they take up a large percentage of the running time.
