The Juneau class submarine entered service with the Earth Federation Forces prior to the start of the One Year War in UC 0079. After Principality of Zeon forces invaded Earth, they captured many of the EFF’s Juneau class and Lockwood class subs, converting them into the Jukon class and Mad Angler class, respectively. After the war, the original Juneau class remained in service and patrolled the Earth’s oceans as late as UC 0112.
