Gach and Bello discuss how the nights are getting shorter each day, showing how far they’ve traveled. Gainer talks to Cynthia through his video game interface and they agree to meet at Gangalan. Gainer worries that Adette has heard them but she’s still asleep. Cynthia proposes they make a game out of their meeting. Adette reveals that she was awake after all. Later, Gainer changes into a suit of Gain’s for his date with Cynthia and Gain gives him some money. Sara and Adette spy from nearby. Princess Ana comments on how funny Gainer looks. Adette and Sara decide to spy on Gainer during his date and head off in a car. Sara is surprised that he brought flowers with him. A boy stops by and gives Gainer a note from Cynthia. The note explains the terms of the game, providing Gainer some hints on how to find her. Gainer heads to a computer terminal to help him in deciphering the clues. Gainer bumps into a man named Kashmir Valle, who overhears him talking about diamonds. Kashmir shows Gainer a train diagram showing how the tracks are aligned in the shape of a diamond. Adette and Sara watch from nearby, recognizing Kashmir as the Siberian Railway’s Vice President of Operations. Adette says he’d be willing to sacrifice an employee’s life to maintain the schedule. Underneath the train schedule Gainer finds Cynthia’s second note. Gainer asks a woman at a nearby newsstand and is directed to a sundial. Kashmir puts on his pilots outfit and comes out to the dock where Kejinan and Enge are waiting. They want to handle things on their own, but Kashmir says he is here to clean up their poor performance. Enge asks how he is going to use the Antlion, an Overman-like silhouette engine not originally designed for combat, but rather for digging tunnels. Adette and Sara split up. Gainer heads onto the subway and Sara follows him on the adjacent car. The subway car passes by the Antlion. Cynthia sits at a table by the sundial, eating some candy. Sara continues to follow Gainer, wondering why he is so serious about this. Adette receives words that the city units are under attack. The city units start sinking into the snow. Mamado and Gain are surprised at how soft the ground is in this area. Gain’s Gotchko falls to the ground and just narrowly avoids sinking into the ground. Gain thinks something unusual must be happening underground.
Kejinan and Enge assist Kashmir in digging a hole underground to prevent the Exodus from moving forward. Kashmir plans to stimulate the magma underground. A Gangalan official is worried about the civilians and Kashmir says to evacuate them. Gainer makes it to the sundial and finds Cynthia’s final note. As he is about to grab it Adette appears and tells Gainer that he’s needed. Sara also reveals herself, surprising Gainer. Cynthia, who is watching from a balcony above, notices Gainer and comments on how unlucky he is. Adette and Sara drive Gainer back towards the city units, withholding the letter from him. Gainer gets into the King Gainer, which has been left outside. Remembering the Antlion, Gainer heads back towards Gangalan. The city units continue on trying to avoid the collapsing ground. Gainer pilots the King Gainer into the subway tunnel and heads underground and finds a big pool of magma. Kashmir notices the King Gainer. Kejinan and Enge are sick of fighting the King Gainer. The Antlions attack the King Gainer, which avoids its attack. Kashmir asks Kejinan and Enge why they are fighting. He says they should run around and avoid each other. Using a drill, the three Antlions depart. Kashmir’s Antlion appears from a nearby tunnel and fires into the magma, causing it to burst out towards the King Gainer. Kashmir complains about what Kejinan and Enge are doing and the King Gainer is able to attack Enge’s Antlion. Having witnessed the King Gainer’s overskill, Kashmir leaves, worrying Enge. Gainer is worried about using the King Cold move, but thinks he doesn’t have another choice to save the city units. Bello continues to direct the city units away using the Bachclone. Gainer talks to Bello and Gain from underground. King Gainer bursts through a tunnel it creates underground, stopping the magma. This results in the power going out in the Gangalan dome. Later, Kejinan and Enge whine to Kashmir who is dedicated to keeping the trains on schedule to maintain the diamond-like diagram. Kashmir says those of Gangalan will have to join the Exodus as refugees and cause a supply problem for the Exodus. The refugees from Gangalan join up with the Exodus, which Bello whines about. Gainer apologizes to Cynthia for not being able to meet with her and she says they can meet some other time. Gainer wonders what the third question was. Above him, Adette reads the notice with the third letter.
The show continues to hit its stride with another good episode. This episode introduces Kashmir Valle, who similar to Kids Munt is most concerned with the trains keeping on schedule, so as to maintain the diamond-like order of the train cars. His purple mohawk gives him quite the bizarre appearance. After a lot of episodes with our heroes taking on Asuham it was good to see him absent and having our heroes take on a new enemy. The storyline with Gainer trying to find Cynthia through the various clues was also an interesting one. The Exodus must leave people with not much to do at times as Adette and Sara spend a lot of time following Gainer around so they can spy on him during his date.
