Summary

Kejinan and Enge chase after Gainer and Sara, who are driving in vehicles in the city of Katez. Kejinan and Enge want to impress their new superior officer, Cynthia. Asuham, who has now joined the Siberian Railway, contacts them, wondering what they are doing. Gainer and Sara abandon their vehicle and climb over a wall which Kejinan and Enge’s vehicle has a hard time climbing over. Asuham tells Jaboli to block all the gates out of the city. Gainer and Sara head into an arcade to hide. Gainer starts playing a game in order to blend in. The Siberian Railway soldiers run past the arcade, not noticing them. Gainer realizes that the game he has sat down at had just been beaten by Cynthia. Cynthia is sitting nearby and they introduce themselves to each other. Sara notices a Siberian Railway soldier nearby and they try to hide. Cynthia asks if they are playing tag with the railway and brings them into the women’s room. Later, Kejinan and Enge head inside and find that they have escaped through a vent in the ceiling. The three of them come down into a hallway and notice the soldiers below. Sara tells Gainer to not be so trusting of Cynthia since they just met. Cynthia shows them another way out and they climb on top of a conveyor belt bridge between two buildings. Kejinan and Enge shoot at them and chase after them. They catch up, but Cynthia uses a hose on them, enabling her, Sara and Gainer to get away. Enge thinks it was Cynthia who was with them, but Kejinan doesn’t believe it could be so. Now in a warehouse, the three of them are found by a worker. Gainer makes an excuse about being chased by the girls and convinces the man to let them out. Suddenly an announcement comes out over the intercom from the Siberian Railway saying they are wanted. The man decides to let them out anyway, enabling them to escape under a trapped vehicle. Sara is surprised at Cynthia’s lack of concern about their safety, and Cynthia says she likes to think of it as a game. Cynthia wants to take a photo of everyone when they get to the north side of the city. After doing so, they are come upon by a Siberian Railway officer who asks for ID. Cynthia kicks the man in the head and they flee. They come upon King Gainer. Gainer and Sara invite Cynthia to come with them, but Cynthia declines. She says they are glad they are rivals and calls for her overman, Dominator to arrive. Gainer can’t believe she is the Dominator pilot and wonders if there is anyone he can trust.

Cynthia’s Dominator takes off. Some Dogodzos arrive which the King Gainer fights against. Cynthia wants them to fight in their Overmen, thinking it will be a lot of fun, but Gainer tries to explain that they are friends and shouldn’t be fighting against each other in a battle such as this. Cynthia doesn’t listen to him, saying she takes after her overman pilot mother and attacks the King Gainer with an extended arm. King Gainer tries to flee but is grabbed by the Dominator. Cynthia tells King Gainer to pull out its weapon and fight. King Gainer pulls out his chain gun and swings away at the Dominator’s arms, without much luck. Sara calls out to Bello that Gainer is in trouble. King Gainer avoids Cynthia’s attacks but is fearful that she is going to kill him. Suddenly a light starts emitting from the King Gainer. The power starts going out in Katez. Asuham’s railway car stops and he runs off, with Jaboli chasing him, wondering if the light he saw is the cause of this. King Gainer prepares a kinpo karate attack and causes a blizzard to appear. The Dominator starts freezing up, preventing it from being able to transform. Gainer hopes to take away the Dominator’s weapons without killing Cynthia. Cynthia explains the King Gainer’s freezing overskill to Gainer and wants to explain hers as well, thinking she’ll get a higher score if she does so. Gainer admits that he didn’t know about this overskill and repeats that they don’t need to fight. Cynthia says she can defrost the overfreeze and starts doing so. Asuham and Jaboli make it outside and see the two overman fighting. Asuham believes they belong to the Overdevil family. Sara thinks Gainer and Cynthia are being fools. Cynthia realizes King Gainer is like an overdevil. She manages to knock King Gainer to the ground and thinks she’s won. Once they get to the ground Cynthia gets out of the Dominator and goes to see Gainer. Sara rushes by her and makes sure that Gainer is okay. Sara goes to tend to Gainer, who is bleeding from the side. Sara tells Cynthia to press her hand against Gainer. Cynthia realizes that Gainer’s injuries are her fault. Cynthia says she didn’t mean for this to happen, but Sara calls her a childish brat. Cynthia says she’s sorry and runs back to the Dominator, crying. She returns to Asuham and Jaboli, still upset over what she has done. Gainer is upset at himself for fighting against Cynthia and being willing to kill her. He thinks the King Gainer is making him do something horrible.

Commentary

A fairly good episode that returns Cynthia to the scene. She, Gainer and Sara finally get to meet, leading to a chase scene and later an overman battle. As strong as a pilot she is, Cynthia is too concentrated on having fun while piloting her overman as if it was a video game. She doesn’t realize the bad things that can happen, but does by the episode’s end. Asuham being a member of the Siberian Railway seems to come a bit out of nowhere though. As does the negative impact that the King Gainer is having on Gainer. It will be interesting to see how they use this as we get towards the end of the series, it just would be good if they had hinted at this before. This episode also surprisingly features very few recurring characters from the Yapan Exodus.
