King Gainer Ep. 8: Hell’s Marathon Relay

Panther and Dogodzo units battle each other in the snowy wilderness. Suddenly two Under Golame overmen piloted by Zakki and another St. Regan pilot arrive and deploy their mach band attack. Gainer heads out on King Gainer, complaining about why he is needed to open up a stadium. Inside the stadium various women including Sara perform in cheerleading outfits. The Five Wise Men are informed of the defeat of the Gauli squad members although nobody was killed. Bello tries to break up a fight between a team made up of Exodus supporters and another team made up of non-Exodus supporters. Pelhar and his nurse work on tending to the injuries of Hughes, Gain and the other Gauli squad pilots. Hughes and Gain talk about the Golame Overman that they came across. Gainer stops by asking to talk to Gain. They talk in the hangar about how they’ll be crossing the Siberian railway tracks soon. He wants to use the athletic festival as a distraction. Aboard the Siberian Railway car Zakki orders around Kejinan and Enge, who complain. The two get in the Under Golames and take off. Inside the stadium, Adette sees the athletic festival and wonders what’s going on. The Wise Men talk about how the festival is a relaxing event for the people but doesn’t help the Exodus. A track meet event is held. Princess Ana and Lioubov arrive and Ana rushes to grab a seat. Zakki reports to Asuham on his plan. Dogodzo units sit by near the train tracks. Jaboli thinks they are being treated as expendable. Various people take part in a three legged race including Gain and Gainer. Lioubov comes to the Wise Men where their reserved seating is. Princess Ana has run off on her own however, watching from the front row. The Wise Men discuss the bridges they have established across the city units. King Gainer heads out, putting a flagged pole at the top of the first city unit. Gainer catches up with Gain’s Gotchko, which has headed out in front of the city units. Gainer asks Gain if he knows Asuham well enough based on the fact that he thinks he’ll fall into their trap. The Dogodzo units start firing as King Gainer passes by. Jaboli realizes that King Gainer is trying to act as a decoy and tells everyone to hold their position. When King Gainer lands, several Dogodzos come out of their hiding place in the ground and fire upon the King Gainer. Asuham thinks things are going too simply. Gain starts firing upon the Gotchkos. King Gainer attacks Jaboli’s Dogodzo and knocks it over. Some of the Dogodzos start running away and Enge and Kejinan launch a mach band shake attack on the King Gainer.

The Wise Men tell Sara, Bello and Mamado that Gain and Gainer are out fighting. Sara wants to head out with Bello and the others to fight, but the Wise Men tell her it is more important for her to stay here and lead their team in the relay race. Princess Ana comes across Adette who asks if it is okay that she is wandering around on her own. Ana gives her something she wants her to give to her father in Wulgusk. Sara walks by and sees the two talking. Sara thinks Adette is here to capture Princess Ana and the two fight; falling down to the seats below. Lioubov shows up to talk to Ana. Kejinan and Enge continue their attack on the King Gainer. As a result of their attack, the Dogodzos are unable to track down Gain. The two racers from the red and white team run across the bridges over the city units. Adette complains about being forced by Sara to run in the race on the side of the anti-Exodus team. Sara and Adette fight about her being old. The two Under Golames draw closer to King Gainer but are fired upon by Gain’s Gotchko, stopping their attack. Gain says they need two Overmen to use their overskill, and as such Gainer only needs to destroy one of them. The two Under Golames resume their attack on the King Gainer and draw closer to it. King Gainer launches an attack on Enge’s Under Golame, stopping its attack. Asuham orders the two of them to lure the King Gainer onto the train tracks. Sara and Adette take each other on in the relay race. Kejinan and Enge’s Under Golames arrive by the train tracks where the Dogodzos are. King Gainer and the Gotchko approach and the Svarozic fires upon them, nearly hitting the Dogodzos as well. Gain pulls up some of the train tracks and uses them to attack the Under Golames. Gainer tells Jaboli that they should think about running away as well. Sara and Adette continue to run against each other and the two start fighting with each other while running. The Wise Men watch the race. Both Sara and Adette make it back to the stadium and pass the finish line at the same time. Later Gainer massages Sara’s back in class and they talk about how the athletic events lightened the mood for everyone. Bello looks at pictures of the finish showing that Sara made it to the finish line at the same time, but lost to Adette due to her having bigger breasts. Mamado comes into the class and introduces a new teacher. The students, particularly Sara, are shocked to find that Adette is the new teacher.
