The Laplamiz class mobile fortress was a massive command vessel used by the Meltrandi forces. With a width of over 500 kilometers, the Laplamiz was comparable in size and firepower to the Zentradi Gol Boddole Zer mobile fortress. The mobile fortress was controlled by Moruk Laplamiz, a holographic computer projection. At the end of Space War I, the Laplamiz mobile fortress and a large Meltrandi fleet de-folded above Earth to fight the Zentradi. The Gol Boddole Zer fired its main gun and destroys the Laplamiz, along with a large contingent of the Meltrandi fleet. However, Gol Boddole Zer’s sacrifice of thousands of Zentradi ships caught in the firing line caused Britai Kridanik and other Zentradi to turn against their leader. As a result, some Meltrandi forces joined with the Zentradi dissidents and the Macross to attack the Gol Boddole Zer and ultimately destroy it.
