The remaining rebels continue to fight back against the Poseidal military. Gavlet tears a D.Sserd to shreds, and one of his bandit underlings informs him that Giwaza himself has ordered them to fall back. In the remains of Little Saye the rebels depart to outer space. One of the rebels tells Daba he’d love to team up with him again someday. One of the departing spaceships is blown up by the military. Leccee gets upset, saying they don’t stand a chance if their ships can go down so easily. She thinks they need to regroup and gather more rebels to join them. Leccee tells Amu she should stay here on Mizun, where she’s become well known and can recruit more forces. Amu gets depressed and doesn’t want to leave Daba. Deciding to follow Leccee’s advice, she kisses Daba and leaves with her. Daba tells Kyao that the girls have left and they should take off. The ship blasts off before Amu and Leccee have even left the ship yet and Amu just narrowly makes it out. Daba thinks of Amu as they approach space. Amu hopes they’ll be reunited again. She blasts an approaching Graia and looks for Leccee, who she thinks went ahead without her. Daba thinks about leaving the planet of his birth again. Meanwhile, at the spaceport Gavlet walks through the dock of the ship Slender Skala and notices a ‘cool’ A-class heavy metal, the Bat-Shu. He heads to the bridge and is surprised to see it is crewed entirely by women. He meets the ship’s captain, Elaine, who tells him Giwaza has made him the ship’s tactical advisor. She tells him all the women on this ship want to be as powerful as Nei. Gavlet announces to his crew that he’ll make this ship the best around, but wonders why Giwaza placed him here. Giwaza, accompanied by Nei, contacts him and tells him he did good on Mizun and will be allowed to lead the Slender Skala as a separate unit of the military. Giwaza tells him to attack the rebels leaving Mizun. If he does well, he could rise to the rank of Head Hunter. Daba and Kyao set the course of their ship to Gastogal, main planet of the Pentagona system. Daba is surprised Amu and Leccee left. Kyao says it’s been a while since it’s been just the two of them, but the upset Lilith reminds him she’s still around. They sense someone else aboard and head to the secondary bridge where they find Leccee. Leccee doesn’t want them to head to Gastogal, which she considers a suicide mission. Daba is mad at Leccee for convincing Amu to leave the ship. Leccee tries to defend herself, saying Amu isn’t a fighter. Daba tells Kyao to continue toward Gastogal. He notices the enemy is pursuing them. Aboard the Slender Skala, Gavlet gets into the mighty Bat-Shu and takes off.
Daba gets into the L.Gaim and heads out. He tells Leccee to stay behind and defend the ship. Daba is attacked by a group of Space Listas and wonders what they are guarding. He runs into the Bat-Shu, which knocks the L.Gaim away with ease. Gavlet tells Daba this is the end for him, but Daba pushes him away. Leccee tells Kyao to lead their ship into the nearby asteroid belt. Kyao has trouble without Amu around to help him, and Leccee heads out on the D.Sserd. Daba loses his saber and is overpowered by the Bat-Shu, which attacks him with electric bolts. The L.Gaim is able to pull out its lance and defend itself from Gavlet for the time being. Daba hides behind an asteroid, which Gavlet chops through. Daba catches him off guard and knocks the Bat-Shu away. Gavlet wonders if he’s serious about heading into the asteroid belt. Gavlet orders his underlings to head into it even if they have no experience. Kyao continues to complain about Amu not being around to help. Leccee’s D.Sserd is nearly struck by an asteroid, but she blasts it. The resulting debris damages the ship and causes the power to go out. Kyao leaves the bridge with Lilith to fix things. Leccee tells Daba that perhaps she should leave the ship because of what she did. Daba thinks there are too many asteroids in the area surrounding their ship. Kyao returns to the bridge as the power comes back. The ship is surrounded by Beazs, which launch a number of missiles. Leccee realizes they’re from Theart Star and that they have no chance of winning. Kyao says after tricking Amu he can’t trust her. Leccee is nearly killed, but is saved by Daba. The enemy leaves, and a woman contacts them and tells them to stop resisting. Leccee realizes it is Full Flat and wonders what she is doing here. Everyone returns to the bridge, and Leccee tells Daba she doesn’t know anything about Full Flat outside of her name. They approach Theart Star, a giant glamorous asteroid base. Full flies by them on a small shuttle.
The story arc on Mizun ends once and for all as our heroes return to space. Amu is left behind on Mizun after being tricked by Leccee into staying there. Since Amu’s my favorite of the two heroines I was quite upset to see her go. Hopefully she’ll rejoin our heroes soon. Giwaza reappears after his small cameo earlier in the series and rewards Gavlet for his efforts (although to tell the truth, we haven’t exactly seen him prove himself that much; he loses so much to Daba) by giving him command of the space shuttle Slender Skala and the powerful A-class heavy metal Bat-Shu. Even with his powerful new heavy metal, he still loses to Daba, though. After a difficult battle with Gavlet, our heroes reach the asteroid fortress Theart Star, led by the mysterious Full Flat. It’ll be interesting to see whether she’ll be willing to help our heroes or not after initially attacking them.
