The Slender Skala rendezvous with the Sarge Opus and Gavlet heads over with Hashamoja. Gavlet goes to see Giwaza and Nei. Giwaza questions his will to fight since he was late yesterday. Giwaza and Nei aren’t happy with his excuses, but they have a new plan to attack the enemy. Nei tells him that without a lover, he’s missing something. Meanwhile, on Trydetol everyone gets excited as Daba arrives on the Turner. Later, Daba tells Semuj he is impressed with their production here. Semuj thinks Daba himself deserves some of the credit for motivating everyone. Semuj brings them to the control room by heading up an elevator. Inside, he tells Daba how they track the military’s movements. A boy there, Ikka, is very impressed with them but makes fun of Kyao. One of the other boys asks Daba why he’s survived so long. Daba says he’s increased his power by observing and establishing good starting points. Kyao later works with a mechanic on the L.Gaim. Amu brings him and then Daba some food. Daba hears of a man who went to spy on Giwaza and gets angry with Semuj for letting him go, but Semuj says it’s what he really wanted to do. Daba wants to send him back, but Ikka is confident in him. At that moment on the Sarge Opus Gavlet finds the spy, who claims to be a spy for Olibee. He tells Gavlet he’ll give him info from Olibee and Gavlet lets him go. The spy is caught by Nei seconds later. Gavlet goes to his shuttle on the deck and returns to the Slender Skala. Nei has her men beat the man, trying to see if he’s really a spy for Olibee. She tortures him herself, but he won’t say anything. Nei reports to Giwaza the fact that the rebels know Olibee’s name. They know Daba’s location on Trydetol, so Giwaza tells Nei she can attack. Giwaza knows that performing well will get him back in Poseidal’s favor. One of Nei’s underlings tell her the spy is dead as she leaves. She is upset that they won’t be able to get any information now. When the rebels find that the spy was killed Ikka gets especially upset since it was his brother. Daba announces to the rebels that the spy has died and they are going to soon launch an attack.
The Turner and other rebel ships leave the base and head towards space. The enemy fleet, led by Nei, approaches the atmosphere. Gavlet gets upset since them heading there isn’t what he thought the plan was. Gavlet is mad since Elaine seems upset with him. Daba tells Ikka to not think about the dead and do his best. Daba is upset with himself for acting so emotionally and wonders if they will succeed. He tells Amu he can’t guarantee he’ll last through this battle. Amu heads back to the bridge to lead the Turner while Kyao gets into the L.Gaim and Daba into the L.Gaim Mk-II. Ikka heads out on a D.Sserd and grabs onto the Mk-II. The Sarge Opus completes its descent through the atmosphere and senses the rebels approaching. Nei is upset that they knew they were coming, confirming in her mind that the spy was with the rebels. Daba fights a Bal-Bud and Kyao joins in to help out so Daba can advance. Kyao is worried about the other rebels being able to make it through. Ikka, wanting revenge for his brother, attacks the Auge and then hesitates. On the Sarge Opus, Nei gets into a new heavy metal, the G.Roon, and heads out. She immediately blasts one of the rebels and attacks the Mk-II. Daba tells the rebels to concentrate on the military’s ships rather than their heavy metals. Nei grabs onto Ikka’s D.Sserd, so Daba is forced to head back and save him. Daba tells Ikka to stay close to him. Watching the battle, Giwaza realizes how powerful the rebels actually are. Seeing Daba aiming toward the ship, Nei rushes towards him, but it’s too late. The Mk-II fires its buster launcher and barely hits the Sarge Opus, damaging it. Kyao tells Daba they have lost 50 percent of their forces and Daba orders everyone to pull back. The military’s forces return to space. Nei is pulled out of the G.Roon on a stretcher. Giwaza admits that the rebels have more power than he does right now, but he still feels he’ll win. On the Turner, Amu wonders why Giwaza backed down so quickly, and Daba thinks it’s because he didn’t know the rebels’ strength and he’ll have a better attack next time.
Just two episodes after Leccee left the rebellion because she felt it wasn’t strong enough, the rebels have already grown to a very large size, so much so that they are bigger than Giwaza’s forces at this time. While that certainly doesn’t mean they’ll win considering the military has a huge technological advantage, things are looking better than ever for our heroes. Giwaza and Nei meanwhile have more reasons than ever to get worried and are taking things out on Gavlet (although I can’t really say he doesn’t deserved to get chewed out by them). I’m surprised to see kids as young as Ikka being part of the rebellion. Probably even more surprising is the fact that he piloted a heavy metal and was able to survive the battle, although he certainly didn’t impress that much.
