L.Gaim Ep. 40: Full Flat

0
Summary

The Slash, holding the L.Gaim Mk-II captive, heads to Theart Star. Giwaza informs Full that they have caught Kamon Myroad and wonders if she’ll have a celebratory drink with him. Daba and Lilith are held tied up in one of the rooms of the ship. Daba looks out the window and notices a Beaz, causing him to realize he’s at Theart Star. Giwaza tells Full he admires her for her beauty, but she asks him to get to the point. Anton claims Daba admitted working with Full and said the Turner was built at Theart Star. Full requests proof and reveals that she knows about Nei heading to Sveto to talk to Poseidal about her. Giwaza changes his tune and requests her assistance in rebelling against Poseidal, which she consents to. Meanwhile, the Whale battles Lily’s Sarge Opus, which is trying to prevent them access to Theart Star. The rebels take the nearby asteroids to their advantage to attack the enemy. Leccee tells Kyao to hurry up and that they only have a few hours. Daba is brought to Giwaza and Full by Anton. Giwaza offers Daba to Full as a gift for teaming up with him. Listening to them talk, Daba realizes they have teamed up. The boosters on Theart Start start and the asteroid base begins moving towards Giwaza’s forces. The Whale and other ships notice that it’s moving. Full tells Giwaza to head back to his ship and that they’ll deal with stopping the rebel’s Star Dust plan. Daba is shocked to find out she knows about it. Kyao and Amu try to think of a way to get into Theart Star as they make their way toward it. They distract a Beaz guarding it and make their way in through one of the boosters. Meanwhile, a party is held on Theart Star and Daba sits nearby stubbornly. Full sits down and tells Daba Theart Star is a gift to her for saving Poseidal’s life. Having been here so long, she’s bored. Daba is shocked when he hears her talk about being involved in battles from 60 years ago. Full tells him its rude to inquire about a woman’s age, but Daba demands to know what’s going on. Full wants the rebels and Giwaza to fight it out so she’ll have an easy time defeating Poseidal herself. Daba grabs a gun and points it at her. She says he won’t shoot since he wants to know more about her. Daba’s gun is taken from him, and Full asks him to come to her room with her.

Daba is led to another room while Full is confronted by Amu and Kyao. Amu demands she give back Daba, and Full Flat says she’ll talk to Giwaza about releasing him on one condition: that they speed up their Star Dust plan. Amu and Kyao wonder how she knows about it, and Full explains it’s because she provides arms to the rebels. Daba tries to escape from the guards in the other room and tell Amu and Kyao not to listen to her. Full tells Amu to go tell Semuj what they were talking about. Amu consents to her demands and leaves. Full heads into the other room and finds her guards knocked out and Daba gone. Meanwhile, the Slash is attacked by the L.Gaim Mk-II, which makes its escape from Theart Star. Giwaza orders Lily to head after him. Lily attacks Daba as soon as he heads out and entraps him in some sort of barrier that reflects all his shots. Lily is attacked, allowing Daba to make his escape. Daba heads back into Theart Star and destroys a few Beazs along the way. After heading into the dock he speeds through Theart Star on the Viewy, seeking to encounter Full again. Daba eventually makes his way up an elevator and heads toward her room. When he gets there he has his gun knocked away by her. Full tells him it’s rude to come into a woman’s room. Daba demands to know why she’s playing around with him and yells at her for allying with both the rebels and Giwaza. He pulls out his beam saber and attacks her, but she knocks it away with ease with a beam whip. The lights out, Daba is unable to see her but is able to get back his beam saber. They continue to fight, and Daba declares he won’t let anyone control him. Full says he only got this far because of the freedom she gave him and then knocks him out. The Slash leaves Theart Star in order to head to Giwaza’s base, Metta. Lilith flies through the halls of Theart Star and sees Full placing unconscious Daba on her bed.

Commentary

An extremely interesting episode, with a larger focus on plot and politics than usual. In particular we learn a lot more about the mysterious Full. Apparently, she’s been given the independent nation of Theart Star as a gift for saving Poseidal’s life. Talking of battles from 60 years ago, it’s pretty obvious that she has eternal youth like Poseidal does. Looks like Giwaza was right after all; like Amandara she is providing assistance to both the military and the rebels. That she has her own ulterior motives even after allying with Giwaza is probably to be expected at this point since so many characters in this show are that way. One mystery brought up in this episode is her having knowledge of Daba’s Star Dust plan. She may be providing supplies to the rebels, but even so the idea at this point shouldn’t be known by many outside Daba’s inner circle. The episode wraps up with Daba still being captured, resulting in the second consecutive cliffhanger in a row.
