L.Gaim Ep. 46: Quwasan Wave

0
Summary

The rebels blast a number of asteroids around Gastogal, sending them slowly towards the planet. Meanwhile at Palarta Star Daba and Kyao look over Lilith, who is asleep. Daba is confident she will be alright and thinks she may be hibernating until she gets better. Anton arrives on the Krepaul and requests Olibee team up with Giwaza. Olibee consents to a meeting, assuming they meet in a neutral location. Anton calls Gavlet a rat boy as he leaves. Gavlet praises Olibee relentlessly, and she says he gives her a lot of faith to fight on her own and gives him control of the ship. She gives him a device that will tell him whether she’s in trouble or not. Rockley thinks something’s wrong with Olibee and tells Gavlet to take care of things here. Olibee and Rockley head to Metta and are led to a wooded area where Giwaza greets them at a dinner table. A group of dancers come in and tie up Olibee and Rockley, suspending them from a large hook. Olibee tells Giwaza that Poseidal won’t forgive him for this and it will shorten his life span. Giwaza says as Poseidal’s bio-sensor he can kill her at any time he wants. He tells his attendants to start the attack on Sveto. Olibee activates the device she gave Gavlet. On the Slender Skala, Gavlet rushes to the G.Roon and heads off with Hashamoja. Working on the thrusters at Palarta Star, Daba and Kyao are informed about Gavlet heading out. They receive a message about rebels attacking Giwaza and demanding his forces head back. Daba and the others head out. Semuj tells Amu that he knows Olibee’s whereabouts. Giwaza’s Slash is attacked by Hashamoja and other Space Graias from the Slender Skala.

The captain of the Slash is glad to hear about Gavlet coming. Gavlet arrives on the G.Roon and blasts through a number of the Space Graias, making sure to spare the pilots, including Hashamoja. The captain tells Gavlet that Giwaza is still at Metta and they can’t head anywhere. Gavlet says he’ll head to Metta and get Giwaza. Anton tells Giwaza that Gavlet is coming to help them, and Olibee is glad to hear it. Semuj informs Daba that Olibee has been captured by Giwaza. Gavlet leads a smaller force of soldiers towards Metta. Gavlet arrives in the dock of the base and meets up with Giwaza. He says rebels are outside and he will help escort Olibee. Giwaza doesn’t want to hear it and tells him to head out and attack the rebels. Gavlet can’t stand to see Giwaza take Olibee onto his shuttle and grabs him long enough for Olibee and Rockley to be able to escape his grasps. Giwaza is able to take back Olibee and rushes out on his shuttle with her. Gavlet heads out, with Rockley soon after him. Daba and Gavlet all rush towards Giwaza’s shuttle. Although rather outnumbered, Gavlet is able to take out a bunch of the enemy. Giwaza is impressed with Olibee for being able to control Gavlet. Anton attacks Gavlet in an Ashura Temple and Gavlet crashes into Giwaza’s shuttle long enough for Olibee to escape from the bridge. She heads out into space and Gavlet grabs her with the G.Roon’s hand. Anton arrives seconds later and cuts the arm off the G.Roon. He grabs the arm and flies away. Daba arrives in the L.Gaim Mk-II and Gavlet tells him he was trying to save Olibee, not kill her. Daba wonders if he is serious about Olibee. While the enemy’s forces are quickly taken out, Anton is able to escape along with Olibee, who calls out for her brother. The Turner returns to Palarta Star. Daba thanks Amu for being serious about helping Olibee.

Commentary

After somewhat of a stand alone episode last time, we get back into the main storyline. Giwaza is successful in capturing Olibee, the reason for much of his discontent. Gavlet appears to be more obsessed with her than ever (perhaps even more so than Daba now) and for once is fighting on the same principles as Daba. Although I wonder why he was piloting a G.Roon instead of the A.Taul his beloved Olibee gave him. Looks like Lilith is still recovering from what went on in the last episode, and thus we get very little of her in this episode.
