L.Gaim Ep. 5: Escape Run

Gavlet arrives at a military spaceport with a recommendation from Amandara. The bandits that came with him are happy to see a cute red-haired girl named Gaw Ha Leccee, pass by, but Gavlet tells them to obey themselves. Chai Char, one of the Poseidal military’s Elite 13, tells his guards to get rid of Gavlet, but Amandara contacts him and tells him that he’s talked to Giwaza and wants Gavlet to be under his command on a trial basis. Amandara decides to leave to the planet Mizun and not wait for Daba. Gavlet is allowed inside and comes to see Chai, giving him the letter of recommendation. Chai takes it and tells him to get out. Daba, Amu, Kyao and Lilith head to Amandara’s mansion. Kyao teases Amu, saying he’ll buy her a house like that someday, but she is only interested in Daba. They enter the mansion, only to find that Amandara has left. They eat, but Daba refuses to give Amandara’s underlings the chip, wanting to give it to him in person. Daba thinks Amandara has headed to Mizun, where war has broken out. The four of them head back to the Works and narrowly miss crashing into a cliff. Daba is surprised that the butler at Amandara’s house wanted the chip even though Kyao was told it was void. Kyao doesn’t like the fact that Daba and Amu want to head to Mizun and jumps off the craft. Upon realizing he’s in the middle of nowhere, he shouts at Daba to come back for him. At the spaceport, Daba bursts into a meeting looking for information about heading out on the next shuttle. With no traveling documents, they appear to be out of luck. Amu blurts out something about stealing a shuttle, which gives Daba the idea to actually do it. Kyao heads back towards the Works, which is still in the woods. Aboard the Works, Daba and Amu discuss their plans while Lilith cooks. Amu doesn’t think Kyao will help them, but Daba is confident he’ll return. Kyao, who is outside, ponders whether he should head back inside and face humiliation. He is somehow convinced that Amu is in love with him even though she is obsessed with Daba. He talks to himself about what he should do and is humiliated even further when it is revealed that both Daba and Amu were already out there and heard the whole thing.

Kyao tells Daba and Amu he doesn’t think they could handle things without him. He happily heads back inside when he hears about food being ready. Kyao is surprised to hear their plans of stealing a transport ship from the military. He thinks they’ll never be able to get into the military as crooks. Amu thinks he’s a hypocrite since he stole the credit chip earlier. Kyao then runs off on his own again. At the spaceport a transport shuttle arrives. Kyao tries to get in the spaceport, but the guard says they don’t need any info from him. Gavlet lands a Lista mecha nearby and calls out to Kyao, who is surprised to find he’s now in the military. Kyao tries to tell him the “information” the guard refused to listen to earlier. Lilith heads out ahead of the Works and sprays sleeping gas in the soldiers’ quarters. The Works drives into the spaceport and hides. Amu pulls a guard away from the Quart shuttle, saying she’s attracted to him. Leccee shows up and asks what is going on. Daba forces the Works into the Quart and shoots down Leccee’s Axe flosser. Kyao, seeing that Daba has already started stealing the ship, realizes his information is now useless. Gavlet thinks Kyao was there to distract him and heads off. Amu heads into the shuttle and tells two of the guards they are conducting infiltration training. Chai himself heads to the transport shuttle and is knocked away by the L.Gaim. Gavlet arrives in an Arorne and tells Chai he can take care of Daba. The bandits that came with him help out by shooting at the L.Gaim on their smaller shuttles. Kyao arrives and shoots the arm off Gavlet’s Arorne. His craft is shot down seconds later. Leccee is disappointed to see everyone having so much trouble. Amu wonders what is taking Daba so long and heads out in the hall, where Leccee has gone with another soldier. Lilith accidentally starts the ship and it starts taking off. Daba flies back towards the craft while battling Gavlet and just narrowly manages to jump up and grab onto the shuttle as it takes off. The shuttle finishes blasting off into space.
