L.Gaim Ep. 50: Excite Amu

0
Summary

Olibee sends a message to Mian from Giwaza’s Sarge Opus, and Giwaza and Anton show themselves with her. Olibee apologizes to her, and Giwaza tells Mian he has always been loyal to her. With the Star Dust attack from the rebels, Giwaza says she should abdicate her power to him in order to end the war. Mian speaks through Olibee to Giwaza. Giwaza talks to Olibee about Kamon, which causes her to pass out. Mian says she’s through talking with him and cuts off the communication. Mian wonders why Olibee is under such stress and says she can’t read Giwaza’s mind in her state. Giwaza talks to Anton about the power of bio-relation and thinks its true strength emanates somewhere out of Sveto. The rebels blow up a military ship that is looking for Gavlet. One of the soldiers escapes but is taken prisoner and brought to Palarta Star. Amu talks to Lilith and thinks Full should talk with Poseidal and settle things. She doesn’t think Full is a bad person and whispers something to Lilith before leaving. Kyao uses a tickling machine to interrogate the prisoner and demands to know Full’s plans. He says she wants to see Gavlet but doesn’t know the reason. Amu heads out on her own on the L.Gaim, but Daba says he understands her feelings and won’t chase after her. Leccee takes off from the Whale on her Novel D.Sserd instead. The Slender Skala approaches Full’s ship. Pamela begs Gavlet to let her come along. The L.Gaim grabs onto the side of Full’s ship and Amu heads out. Leccee arrives, also wanting to see Full and finds a way in the ship. Gavlet talks to Full, who says the attack on Sveto wasn’t an entire failure since she knows the attack plans of Poseidal, to lure Giwaza and the rebels to Sveto then destroy them both. Leccee and Amu track down her location and spy on the conversation. Full gives Gavlet a memory card to give Giwaza, but Gavlet snaps it in two and causes a small device to fall out of it. Gavlet realizes it’s a bomb just before it blows up. The injured Gavlet tries to flee the ship with Elaine and Pamela, who is killed by Full’s soldiers.

Gavlet and Elaine force their way into the room with Leccee and Amu. Full notices that Amu is aboard and tells her soldiers to stop attacking. She calls out Amu, who says it’s a coincidence that she and Gavlet are here at the same time. Amu says she thought Full was an honorable person, but her opinion’s now changed. Full’s beam strikes her in the head, but luckily Leccee is able to help her escape. Full gives orders to sink the Slender Skala. Gavlet calls Hashamoja on the Slender Skala and tells him to attack the Whale. Gavlet and Elaine go to get spacesuits so they can escape. Meanwhile, the rebel ships head towards Full’s Whale. Gavlet escapes and tells the Slender Skala to send out the A.Taul. Full’s assistant Asa tells her she should escape on a Gayrahm, which Full agrees with. Gavlet heads back toward the Whale on the A.Taul and sees the L.Gaim. He yells to Leccee and Amu to escape the ship as soon as they can. Full escapes the ship on her Gayrahm and is protected by a number of Beazs. Gavlet attacks her, swearing to get revenge for Pamela’s death. The rebels’ ships approach and attack the Slender Skala. Kyao battles Hashamoja while Amu tries to catch up with Full. Daba attacks Full, telling her to consider Amu’s feelings, but Full says the world isn’t that simple. Full’s Whale blows up, and the explosion disrupts the battle. Elaine orders the Slender Skala to escape. Daba spots Full’s Gayrahm and heads in for the attack. Gavlet arrives as well and declares he’s going to kill Full. The two of them fight while Leccee throws Daba the L.Gaim Mk-II‘s buster launcher. Gavlet and Full damage each other’s heavy metals. Daba’s about to shoot Full but Amu tells him to stop and yells to Full that she should escape. Daba fires anyway and Amu tries to stop him. Full manages to escape from the blast. Daba goes to see Amu and says she shouldn’t be so kind on Full, causing her to cry.

Commentary

After such an exciting episode last time, this one can’t help but be a little disappointing. After so much going on in the previous episode, not much went on to further the main storyline here. Despite that, it was still an above average episode though. We finally get to see Full piloting a heavy metal, the Gayrahm. Amu has become quite obsessed with her since her ordeal on Theart Star, although I wonder why she would try to protect her from Daba’s attack after she attacked her. The Slender Skala, which was strangely absent in the last episode reappears and Gavlet almost succeeds in killing Full – and himself – with a bomb. Although both make it out alive, the same can’t be said for Gavlet’s loyal underling Pamela.
