The MA-05R Big Ruf was an attack version of the MA-05 Bigro that carried large weapon payloads, similar to the MSM-07Di Ze’Gok. Three units, converted from existing MA-05 machines, are rolled out in early December UC 0079 at the Zeon space fortress A Baoa Qu. The Big Rufs were outfitted with modified versions of the 100-meter-long anti-ship missiles utilized to defend the fortress. The units were equipped with extra booster units to compensate for the added weight of the anti-ship missiles. One unit was piloted during testing by Robert Gilliam, and eventually all three Big Rufs were destroyed in combat.
