Aside from mobile suits and mobile armors, various parties used worker pods like the MAW-01 Mistral. Such parties included the Earth Alliance, the Orb Union, Serpent Tail and the Junk Guild. The Mistral’s main function was to operate as a mobile worker pod with its four detachable telescoping arms. It was, however, armed with two 40mm vulcan guns mounted beneath the main body. This minimal armament was virtually useless against mobile suits like ZAFT’s ZGMF-1017 GINN. This was demonstrated on January 25, C.E. 71, when the Earth Alliance and Orb forces at the space colony Heliopolis deployed Mistrals in a futile attempt to fend off ZAFT’s attacking GINNs.
