In late C.E. 71, Junk Guild technician Lowe Guele forged a 150 meter “Gerbera Straight” katana using rare metal from a meteor that crashed to Earth. Lowe used the giant sword to destroy several ZGMF-600 GuAIZ units during an attack on the Graveyard colony, but the sword proved too big for his MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame to handle by itself. While re-supplying the Three Ships Alliance vessel Eternal, Lowe saw Athrun Zala’s ZGMF-X09A Justice Gundam dock with the METEOR weapons platform. From this inspiration, Lowe created the enormous Power Loader for the express purpose of wielding the massive katana. Because of its enormous size, the Power Loader was stored in two pieces aboard the Re.H.O.M.E. After completing the experimental Power Loader, Lowe first used it to cut the ruined PLANT Junius Seven in half to prevent its fragments from crashing into other PLANTs. Later, Lowe used the Power Loader in battle against Ash Gray’s massive ZGMF-X11A Regenerate Gundam. The Power Loader was destroyed in battle, so Lowe later created new arms, allowing the Powered Red to use the giant katana on its own.
