The GN-006 Cherudim Gundam was the successor to the earlier GN-002 Gundam Dynames and featured higher offensive capability. The Cherudim Gundam was equipped with a forehead sensor that was only revealed during sniper mode. Clavicle antennae were moved to the back of the head to prevent sensor interference. Like the Gundam Dynames before it, the Cherudim Gundam used a special rifle-shaped controller for sniping attacks. The suit’s unique foot design and movable heels weren’t designed for walking, but rather for ensuring stability while sniping. The GN Drive was moved to the back of the waist rather than the chest because its topological defect could have a minute effect on the surrounding space. The new location allowed for more efficient supplying of GN particles to the GN shield bits. After the Trans-Am System was unlocked, Celestial Being designed its new Gundams to be able to function even after the performance drop from releasing highly compressed GN particles. One new Trans-Am feature was the Holoscreen, which collected and transmitted shooting data at high speed to the Meister to improve targeting accuracy.
The Cherudim Gundam’s main weapon was the GN Sniper Rifle II, an improved version of the rifle used by the Gundam Dynames. The rifle could be folded in half for Vulcan Mode, which allowed it to be used in mid- and close-range combat. The rifle also featured a new crystal sensor that was utilized in the weapons of other Gundams. The Cherudim Gundam lacked its predecessor's melee weapons, but the improved GN Beam Pistol II had a protrusion with anti-beam coating that could block beam sabers. Haro-controlled GN Shield Bits offered improved defensive capability over the Gundam Dynames’ GN Full Shield. In 2312, Setsuna F. Seiei recruited Lyle Dylandy to become a Gundam Meister and take his fallen brother Neil’s code name of Lockon Stratos. The new Lockon participated in many armed interventions, and his suit was later upgraded to the GN-006GNHW/R Cherudim Gundam GNHW/R.
