Technical and Historical Notes

Tieria Erde designed the CB-002 Raphael Gundam mainly as a space combat unit, which resulted in balance issues during ground combat due to its top heavy nature. Because of this, the CB-002/GD Raphael Gundam Dominions was a variant created to improve ground capability. The GN-008RE Seravee Gundam II was replaced by the unmanned GN-00802 Sera, which split apart into various armor pieces mounted on the Raphael Gundam's body (the Sera can also reform into an unmanned unit). This not only improved balance, but the additional armor improved the Raphael Gundam's defenses. As a result, the pair of GN Bazookas above the shoulders were more stable when fired under gravity, as the Raphael Gundam Dominions could now effectively absorb the recoil caused by their firing. The GN Bazookas were capable of accurate, long-range shooting. The suit's handheld GN Bazooka was a modified version of the GN-005 Gundam Virtue's and featured a GN Drive Tau installed at the back. The suit was deployed during the war between the Old Human Faction and the Innovators and their supporters.
