Technical and Historical Notes

The amazon.co.jp A-Z Gundam was a custom Gunpla built by Meijin Kawaguchi the 3rd (aka Tatsuya Yuuki). It was based on the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam from the 1985-86 anime TV series Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. Its name was a reference to its design encompassing the appeal “from A to Z” of a Gundam kit. Designed for high speed combat, the A-Z Gundam made use of the latest Gunpla developments, including anti-particle paint from Yajima Trading. The A-Z Gundam was armed with a pair of vulcan guns, four beam sabers, a beam saber shield and two twin hyper mega launchers. The two launchers could connect to the backpack-mounted flight boosters to fire in prime cannon mode. Prior to leaving Japan for a Gunpla world tour, the Meijin tested out the A-Z Gundam in combat against Sei Iori’s GAT-X105B/GC Build Strike Galaxy Cosmos. A fierce fight ensued between the Gunpla Battle veterans that ultimately resulted in a draw.
