Technical and Historical Notes

The second Gundam F90 test unit, captured near Side 4 by the Oldsmobile Army in October UC 0120, was taken back to these Zeon remnants' Mars base to be refurbished for their own uses. The overhauled model was redesignated OMS-90R Gundam F90 Mars Independent Zeon Forces Version, and it only vaguely resembled its original form, being painted in a striking red-orange-on-white scheme. The Zeon F90 didn't have as many external hardpoints as the original Eartj Federation Forces F90, as none of the Gundam F90's optional mission packs and equipment were captured, and the Oldsmobile Army wanted their prize to be a simple, high-performance unit. The new F90 also sported more vernier thrusters, making it much more agile and maneuverable in close combat. This gave the Zeon F90 a considerable advantage when it finally faced off against the EFF's remaining original Gundam F90 deep inside the Oldsmobile Army's Mars base. The Zeon F90 ended up inflicting considerable damage to the EFF F90, but in the end it was defeated. The Zeon F90's remains were recovered by the EFF and SNRI rebuilt the unit into the even-more-improved F90II Gundam F90II.
