Technical and Historical Notes

The Gaw was an atmospheric attack carrier deployed by the Principality of Zeon's Earth Attack Force during the One Year War. The Gaw had a dual function as both a transport and carpet bomber. Its armaments included bombs and a trio of mega particle guns. Thanks to its large size, the Gaw could transport eight Dopp fighters and up to three mobile suits. The Gaw was widely used throughout Earth, including during Zeon's carpet bombing and eventual invasion of the Earth Federation Forces' Jaburo headquarters in South America. Famously, Earth Attack Force Commander Garma Zabi was killed while piloting a Gaw in a suicide attack on the White Base after being betrayed by Char Aznable. Following the rollout of the EFF's combat ready mobile suits, the Gaw became an easy target for them.
