The Principality of Zeon’s early mass production MS-06C Zaku II was upgraded several times during the initial stages of the One Year War, including the Type C-5 and Type C-6/R6. The Type C-5, in contrast to the regular Type C, was designed for use on both Earth and in space. It also utilized a different cockpit block. The Type C-5's armaments included a belt-fed machine gun, a bazooka, a heat hawk and a twin machine gun mounted on the left arm. Type C-5 units participated in the Battle of Loum. Eventually, all Type C versions were updated to Type F, which became the standard version of the Zaku II for the duration of the war.
