Technical and Historical Notes

The ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris Trooper was an upgraded ground combat version of Gaelio Bauduin’s Gundam Kimaris. New features included the ability to transform into a four-legged, centaur-like trooper mode. The rear skirt armor incorporated a hover unit, and two sub-arms were added to the side skirt armor, which could hold weapons or a shield. The Kimaris Trooper’s armaments included a destroyer lance (mounting two 140mm machine guns), the Kimaris saber, Kimaris shield and a mine dispenser. As the battle against Tekkadan reached Edmonton, Gaelio came under attack by the mysterious V08-1228 Grimgerde, piloted by his friend McGillis Fareed under the masked alias Montag. McGillis attacked with deadly intent as part of his plan to take down the Seven Stars families, and he dealt what he presumed was a fatal blow to Gaelio. However, Gaelio survived and later returned to Gjallarhorn with his own masked alias, Vidar. As Vidar, Gaelio used a disguised version of his Gundam, the ASW-G-XX Gundam Vidar.
