Technical and Historical Notes

The EB-AX2 Graze Ein was an experimental mobile suit developed by Gjallarhorn. Although built on the Graze Frame, its height of 22.2 meters made it considerably bigger than the EB-06 Graze Standard Type. In a major departure from all other Gjallarhorn mobile suits, the Graze Ein incorporated the Alaya-Vijnana System, which fell out of use on Earth following the Calamity War. The incorporation of this system was unique in that pilot Ein Dalton had been grievously injured in battle with Tekkadan, leaving him as nothing more than a head and torso. His shattered body was fitted with Alaya-Vijnana implants, which allowed him to control the Graze Ein as though it were an extension of his body. Because of Ein’s condition, the Graze Ein featured a special cockpit with a life support system filled with liquid nutrients. The Alaya-Vijnana System also stabilized Ein’s mental state, which was twisted by his obsession with and hatred of Tekkadan.

The Graze Ein’s armaments included two large axes, two retractable machine guns, two pile bunkers capable of penetrating nanolaminate armor, a screw punch in each fist and a drill kick in each foot. In P.D. 323, the Graze Ein was deployed to stop Tekkadan from reaching the city of Edmonton on Earth. Ein single-handedly took on multiple Tekkadan and Teiwaz mobile suits before losing a fierce battle to Mikazuki Augus’ ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos (6th Form). Following the battle, Ein’s brain was salvaged and used to power the Alaya-Vijnana System Type E used in the ASW-G-XX Gundam Vidar. The Graze Ein’s combat data was later used in the development of the EB-08jjc Reginlaze Julia.
