Technical and Historical Notes

In 1999, human history was forever changed when an alien gun destroyer crashed on Earth. Rebuilt and renamed as the Macross, the super dimension fortress played a critical role a decade later in Space War I against the giant Zentradi and Meltrandi. After the war, the Macross became one of Earth's relics that was maintained at Culture Park near U.N. Spacy headquarters. Eighty years later, the derelict ship regularly conducted random energy discharges into sky from its main gun. In 2092, the alien Mardook attacked Earth with their army of brainwashed Zentradi and Meltrandi soldiers. The Mardook Emulator Ishtar was brought to Earth by SNN reporter Hibiki Kanzaki and came to believe that the Macross was the legendary Mardook ship known as the Alus. As the situation became grim, Hibiki, Ishtar and U.N. Spacy ace pilot Sylvie Geena reactivated the Macross and attacked the Mardook Carrier that was commanded by the dictator Ingues. Unfortunately, the Macross' weapons caused little damage, and a retaliatory attack from the Carrier destroyed nearly the entire ship, save for the bridge module. However, the Mardook turned on Ingues due to his indiscriminate killing of his own people, destroying the Carrier and him with it.
