Technical and Historical Notes

The MBR-04-Mk.VI Destroid Tomahawk was a series four main battle robot manufactured by Viggers and Chrauler for use by U.N. Spacy. Compared to its predecessors in earlier series, the Tomahawk utilized OverTechnology derived from the Macross. As a ground unit, the Tomahawk functioned as a replacement for older tanks and packed heavy firepower compared to other Destroids. In place of arms, the Tomahawk mounted two Mauler particle beam guns as its main armament. Other weapons included a pair of chest-mounted gun clusters that included a machine gun, grenade launcher, flamethrower and laser gun. Its shoulders each housed 12-tube rocket launchers, and its head is equipped with a pair of Remmington machine guns. An Erlikon missile launcher was also mounted behind the Tomahawk's right shoulder. Due to its lack of close combat weapons, the Tomahawk often served as a support unit for the VF-1 Valkyrie. In 2009, many Tomahawks were deployed to the Macross, where like other Destroids they served as anti-air interceptors. After Space War I, Tomahawks were also deployed across Earth's surviving cities to maintain security in the wake of violent Zentradi uprisings.
