The Zeonic Company produced four MS-06R-2 Zaku II R-2 units, with one of them designated for development and testing purposes. This unit was modified into the MS-06R-3S Zaku II R-3S, or as it was commonly known, the Zaku III. The MS-06R-3S was armed with a beam rifle, a heat sword and a pair of vulcan guns. The unit’s main purpose was to test the technology that was later used in the MS-14S Gelgoog Commander Type.
