Late in the One Year War, the Principality of Zeon produced the MS-09S Dowas as the final version of the MS-09R Rick Dom. The Dowas was developed to improve the Rick Dom’s high mobility combat ability, but the war ended with most having never seen battle. Zeon remnants transported the completed Dowas units to the Axis asteroid, where they were upgraded with higher mobility and generator output, plus new Gundarium alloy armor. These upgraded units were redesignated as the MS-09SS Dowas Custom. The Dowas Custom’s armaments included vulcan guns, a diffuse beam cannon, a heat saber and a beam bazooka. The Dowas Custom could optionally be fitted with two propellant tanks on its backpack to extend its operational time, depending on the mission. When Char Aznable left Axis, he took a Dowas Custom and some Gundarium alloy to Anaheim Electronics. The Dowas Custom became the design base for Anaheim’s Gamma Gundam, which later evolved into the RMS-099 Rick Dias used by the AEUG during the Gryps War.
