The MSM-07S Char’s Z’Gok was a moderate improvement over the standard MSM-07 Z’Gok, sporting a more powerful reactor and a more economical use of armor and construction materials, resulting in a lighter gross weight and increased performance. Produced late in the One Year War, the S-type was usually reserved for ace pilots and unit commanders. Zeon ace pilot Char Aznable used one of these S-type Z’Goks during Zeon’s assault on the Earth Federation Forces’ Jaburo military headquarters on November 30, UC 0079. Because the attack was hastily organized, Char was unable to make use of several mobile suits designed at the captured California Base for an attack on Jaburo.
