The MSZ-009 Prototype ZZ Gundam was an early version of the AEUG’s MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam. Unlike the ZZ Gundam, it did not use the Core Block System, but it could transform into G-Fortress Zero mode and separate into two parts: Core Top Zero and Core Base Zero. The Prototype ZZ Gundam’s main purpose was to test combining mechanisms. It was armed with a pair of hyper beam sabers, along with a head-mounted high mega cannon and a hand use double beam rifle. A total of two units were produced.
