Technical and Historical Notes

The MVF-M12A Ootsukigata was a variant of Orbs’s MVF-M11C Murasame. The Ootsukigata’s armament was similar to the Murasame, although the Murasame’s missiles were removed and replaced with a high-energy long range beam cannon. The Ootsukigata also featured a dedicated targeting sensor that allowed it to track many targets at once. The Ootsukigata was also equipped with additional thrusters on its legs and shield for added maneuverability in Earth’s lower atmosphere. Several Ootsukigata units participated in the final battle of the Second Bloody Valentine War in early C.E. 74 outside the mobile fortress Messiah. During the battle, an Ootsukigata unit piloted by Takito Haya Oshidari destroyed a ZGMF-X3000Q Providence ZAKU.
