The MW-01 Mobile Worker Model 01 Late Type was an improved version of the Early Type. The cockpit was enclosed to protect the pilot during close-range combat testing. The Late Type’s forearm attachments could be exchanged to serve different mission roles, including fitting manipulators on both arms or using specialized working parts. This system was used five years later during the development of the YMS-07B-0 Prototype Gouf (Tactical Demonstrator), which featured compatible swappable forearm modules. The Late Type also featured improvements for attitude control testing in space. Its overall design was quite similar to the Early Type and carried forward that unit’s biggest flaw – the large and exposed fusion reactor mounted on the backpack.
