Following Neo Zeon’s colony drop on Dublin in UC 0088, the crew of the battered AEUG flagship Argama were forced to leave the ship behind for use on Earth by the AEUG’s sister organization, Karaba. However, after returning to space they found the new battleship Nahel Argama waiting for them at the Anaheim Electronics repair ship La Vie en Rose. This ship, constructed at Granada, had several improvements over its predecessor. Its armaments were a dramatic improvement over its predecessor, including a hyper mega particle cannon, two sub mega particle cannons, 16 anti-aircraft guns, a pair of 2-barrel beam cannons and two secondary cannons. Although the AEUG leadership did not wish to confront Haman Karn in Side 3, Judau Ashta and his friends stole the Nahel Argama (with the blessing of former Argama captain Bright Noa). The ship participated in multiple battles at the end stage of the First Neo Zeon War, during which the Neo Zeon side splintered into factions loyal to Haman or the rebellious Glemy Toto. Both leaders were killed at the war’s end in early UC 0089.

After the end of the war, the AEUG was folded back into the Earth Federation Forces, with many of its personnel and equipment assigned to the new Londo Bell task force. The Nahel Argama, now designated SCVA-76 in the EFF, underwent an extensive refit that increased its mobile suit capacity from 12 to 16 (which necessitated the addition of a sixth launch catapult), and an expansion to its armaments. The ship was fitted with 12 additional anti-aircraft guns and extra beam cannons. By UC 0096, the ship was under the command of Otto Mittas and was engaged in multiple battles with the “Sleeves” faction of Neo Zeon during the Laplace Incident. During this time, teenage pilot Banagher Links and the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam became part of the ship’s complement as the secrets of Laplace’s Box were unraveled.
