An experimental mobile suit developed by the New United Nations Earth military, the NRX-007 Correl was built with tremendous speed and mobility as top requirements. To fill this tall order, the engineers who designed the Correl stripped the suit of almost every trace of armor and excess weight, even exposing crucial joints and frame parts. As a result, the Correl was extremely light, and capable of moving at lightning-fast speeds. Due to its super light frame, however, the Correl’s ability to carry any weapons was drastically limited to a single, hand-held beam knife. When New U.N.E. officers Shagia Frost and Olba Frost were looking for highly skilled pilots capable of taking down the Vulture ship Freeden‘s GX-9901-DX Gundam Double X, they took charge of the Correl prototype. The Frost brothers assigned use of this mobile suit to a possible candidate, the extremely psychotic Demar Griffe, who earned the nickname “White Death” during a military campaign in Africa.
Although the Correl was originally painted in a red-on-light gray paint scheme, Griffe refused to pilot it until it was painted “perfectly white.” With his new mobile suit properly colored, Griffe moved out to destroy the Gundam Double X. During Operation Sacrifice, the New U.N.E.’s invasion of Northernbell’s capital Berude, Shagia Frost lured Garrod Ran’s Double X into an enclosed town square, where Griffe proceeded to administer the mobile suit equivalent of a death by a thousand cuts. However, Garrod got lucky when he accidentally blocked one of Griffe’s beam knife attacks with his beam rifle. The resulting explosion knocked back the Correl and dazed Griffe. Since the Correl had virtually no armor to speak of, the mobile suit and its pilot easily perished under a hail of vulcan gun fire from the Double X.
