OBSOLETE (ONA Series)

OBSOLETE is an ONA series that streamed internationally from 2019-2020. Its staff includes directors Hiroki Yamada and Seiichi Shirato, producer Ryosuke Takahashi, writer Gen Urobuchi, mechanical designer Makoto Ishiwata, character designers Akihiko Yoshida and Yuya Nagai and composer Tomohisa Ishikawa. The series is set in an alternate 21st century Earth where mysterious aliens known as the Peddlers offer up advanced techno-organic Exoframes to anyone who provides sufficient quantities of limestone – no questions asked. As humans convert the Exoframes for military use, it greatly upsets the balance of power that existed beforehand. The series consists of 12 half-length episodes that streamed globally as a YouTube Original, but it has also been released on home video in North America by Sentai Filmworks.
