The ORX-013 Gundam Mk-V was a prototype mobile suit developed by the Augusta Newtype Research Institute as a smaller, simpler version of the MRX-009 Psycho Gundam. While the Psycho Gundam could only be operated by Newtypes and Cyber Newtypes, the Gundam Mk-V was equipped with a newly developed quasi-psycommu system, which allowed even normal pilots to control remote weapons such as the two wire-guided incoms stored in its backpack. The performance of the mobile suit itself was also extremely high, and it carried a shield booster similar to that used by the RX-121 Gundam TR-1 (Hazel) series, which could be attached to its back as an additional thruster. In addition to its incoms and handheld beam rifle, the Gundam Mk-V was armed with two backpack beam cannons that doubled as beam sabers, and optional missile pods could be attached to its shoulders. Although the Gundam Mk-V was initially commissioned by the Titans, the political situation shifted in favor of the AEUG during its development process, and the project was taken over by the regular Earth Federation Forces.

Three prototype units were eventually completed, but as the Gryps War came to an end the Gundam Mk-V had yet to enter combat. One unit was placed in storage at the relay station Penta, and another was reportedly given to the Axis forces, who later used it as the basis for the AMX-014 Doven Wolf. During the Pezun Rebellion, the prototype unit stored at Penta was reassigned to Adm. Brian Aeno’s fleet in order to help suppress the New Desides. Due to Aeno’s defection this prototype ended up in the hands of the rebels instead, and New Desides leader Brave Cod used this machine throughout the battle for Ayers City, destroying more than 20 EFF mobile suits and wiping out Taskforce Alpha’s FA-010A FAZZ team. Cod’s Gundam Mk-V was ultimately defeated by Ryo Roots and the MSA-0011[Ext] Ex-S Gundam on March 28, UC 0088.
