The ovv-a Baqto was a heavy mobile suit based on Vagan’s first mass production model, the ovv-f Gafran. The Baqto’s armament was similar to the Gafran’s, although the chest-mounted diffuse beam cannon was replaced with a multipurpose beam spike. The Baqto was the first Vagan mobile suit to be equipped with electromagnetic armor, which allowed it to withstand a shot from the AGE-1 Gundam AGE-1 Normal‘s DODS rifle. As Vagan technology continued to develop, electromagnetic armor became standard on all their mobile suits by AG 140. The Baqto was first deployed in AG 115 at the space colony Fardain and remained in service for decades. By AG 164, the Baqto was relegated to rear line defense of the Vagan homeland, Second Moon.
