ZAFT’s Petrie class land battleship was deployed across Earth to achieve military supremacy on the ground. Although smaller than the Lesseps class, these battleships were still effective against ground targets. Like the Lesseps, the Petrie used a scale propulsion system to liquefy sand and sail across the desert. The Petrie class’ armaments included six cannons, and most of its mobile suits were stored on the deck. During the Bloody Valentine War in C.E. 71, North African commander Andrew Waltfeld used the Petrie and Henry Carter in an assault on the Earth Alliance battleship Archangel and the Desert Dawn guerillas. During the Second Bloody Valentine War in late C.E. 73, the battleship Bagley assisted the Minerva in attacking the Alliance’s Middle Eastern base in the Gulnahan ravine.
