The Picket was a class of reconnaissance patrol ship used by the Zentradi forces. The ship’s armaments included guided beam cannons, small maneuverable warship weapons and anti-ship/aircraft missile launchers. In February 2009, two Pickets arrived in Earth orbit to investigate a signal from a crashed Supervision Army gun destroyer that humans rebuilt into the Macross. A Supervision Army booby trap hidden in the Macross automatically activated and fired the ship’s main gun, which destroyed both Pickets in one shot. This shot marked the beginning of Space War I between humans and the Zentradi.
